Interesting comment re Luke Ball !!
They were saying on SEN that Luke Ball was 50/50 about leaving the saints but a "Major Influence" convinced him to leave.
Was it his manager?
Was it his family?
I thought they were interesting comments. Does anyone else feel the same? !!

I do find the whole thing strange, he's leaving for me field time but will be taking a deal thats less. how can he be sure that in a years time the pies youngsters have no over taken him as well???
We only have a reporters view on the fact that he is leaving for less coin.

The money offered by Collingwood.
$500,000 when he is now worth under $200,000.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Because I am probably trying to find a reason that probably isn't there...
Someone mentioned that with his record of injuries, the dome is not a great surface for Luke? Perhaps it's for medical reasons that he has nominated a club that plays on the MCG the most often.
Clutching at straws, but only because I still don't understand his decision.

Im a luke Ball fan and will enjoy watching him for years to come.
I hope we find a way to keep him but if not I'll still enjoy watching him pump the ball out from under the packs...as long as its not against us

Yes it's an interesting comment, just who made that comment by the way?Eastern wrote:They were saying on SEN that Luke Ball was 50/50 about leaving the saints but a "Major Influence" convinced him to leave.

I have read that Ball is willing to accept less money that what the Saints offered for a 3 year contract in order to play more and that he was somewhat disappointed in only obtaining 50% of game time in the grand final, which surprised me, when you consider BJ received a suspected broken nose and collar bone...
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!
Re: Interesting comment re Luke Ball !!
and the coach came out and admitted that it was a mistake to not have played him more. If I was a clever footballer I would have relised that I was in a group that was very close, despite missing 5 games I was selected to play in the finals and a grand final. I might have only got 50% game time but my coach has said that perhaps in hindsight this was a mistake. I would expect more game time thus in the coming season if I worked hard enough....St Fidelius wrote:Yes it's an interesting comment, just who made that comment by the way?Eastern wrote:They were saying on SEN that Luke Ball was 50/50 about leaving the saints but a "Major Influence" convinced him to leave.

it just doesn't add up UNLESS he is getting offered ALOT more at another club and wont say so.

If Luke is taking life advice from Brereton, then god help him.Milan Faletic wrote:Think you might have it.satchmo wrote:What, B as in brereton???Eastern wrote:Does Ball start with a B? !!satchmo wrote:Initials are DB
Ironically they are following the same path.
Next stop for Luke: Collingwood... then Swans?

He is a family friend, and has been into him from day one. In fact, a couple of years ago he bragged that judd, ball and hodge would play together at hawthorn. In fact he was adamant at the time.SainterK wrote:What connection am I missing, what does he to do with anything?Milan Faletic wrote:Think you might have it.satchmo wrote:What, B as in brereton???Eastern wrote:Does Ball start with a B? !!satchmo wrote:Initials are DB

Oh I didn't know the connection, thanks for that. However I am still confused, how does Ball nominating for Collingwood get him to Hawthorn?satchmo wrote:He is a family friend, and has been into him from day one. If that was the case he wouldn't have played in the granny, and Ross would not have said he erred in not giving him more game time.danners wrote:could it be that ross lyon didnt like ball or didnt rate him as a footballer so thats why he didnt get as much game time as he wanted.
and now looking to next season, lyon could have told him that he wasnt going to play anymore than this season??
