SydneySainter wrote:Unbelievable! I sure hope the playing-group has a lot more mental toughness than some of the so called 'supporters' on this forum, otherwise we are so far away from a flag that it's not funny.

As far as I'm concerned, the club has moved on and left Lovett in the hands of the law. They're already soldiering on and continuing with their premiership tilt and frankly the ones who can't move on are the supporters who can't stop rubbing salt in their wounds. Stop feeling sorry for yourselves.

The even bigger insult is the notice that supporters expect the club to apologise. Why should the club apologise? Apologise for the obviously lack of a life these so-called supporters have?

If there are people who proclaim to be bleed red, white and black but at the same time can't move on until the club sticks up their hand and says 'fine, we f**ked up', you either need need to grow up or get a new hobby.
Spot on... good summary... again.

As someone stated, it should be Al who apologises.

BTW, did they apologise about Blight? Or Capuano?

I have to agree.

Expecting the club to apologise is pie in the sky fancy.

Get over yourselves.

It is AL who should be apologising...regardless.

It was more of a mistake than
Rix, Elliot, McGough, Ackland, Capuano, Beetham.......at least they wore the guernsey...
And what exact words should they say. We are sorry for drafting AL. How the hell would that help anyone at all.

It would be nice also if the club added....

in future all recruiting decisions will be run by our supporters who post on Saintsational for approval.

After all we are entitled...blah blah blah.....

Why dont we make all matchday selections using the same method?

A text message poll on the thursday afternoon...

Winner.

Haha thats an amusing post.

I'd rather a player with talent not put on the guernsey than see any of those go near our colours ever again. Bettham the exception.........

yep. i mean people on here can comment on whether we erred for sure. i was just saying to the OP that the club itself cant comment in official media statements cos they could undermine/be seen as prejudicial and get em sued or even cop something criminal on themselves. so they have to stay mum.

but yeah - they might admit they error in a few months.

on the same issue - why would we be so quick to believe sheeds and lloydy and hirdy on the character issue? surely their allegiances lie with the bombers and securing pick 16? they owe the saints nothing and the bombers everything...

True, but if you're gonna ask anyone about a player who's spent the last 7 years or so of his career at Essendon then I suppose you would speak to people who have actually been around him. That means you have to speak to Essendon people. You would hope they'd be professional about it as it potentially affects their credibility.

I remember hearing or reading somewhere (maybe even on here) that the club also spoke to that Quinn guy that was involved with Lovett at his time at Essendon.

From memory, I believe Quinn may of had Lovett live with him and his family for a period of time, and he blossomed during this period of about 9 months?

While we are there lets get the club to apologise for the stolen generation, Hiroshima, The Bold and the Beautiful and anything else this thread can come up with....but for doing its best to get the required talent/skills the side can use to get a flag? Nup- dont need an apology for that.

Plugger and Joffa sitting in a tree.........

They could at least have the balls.......to admit error...

then perhaps some tools on here would actually believe there was an error....

Successes and failures should be acknowledged...

How many effing times is this tired old turkey going to be dug up and stuffed again.

Calculated risk that didn't pay off.

How are you going to feel if legal action forces us to play Lovett this year and he rips all opposing teams a new one?
