The 'Bump' on Fisher
None of the commentaters questioned it on TV, but to me it looked very reportable. Davies didn't have eyes for the ball at all. What do you think?

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

The 'trial by media' commentry panel had handed Kingy a 4 weeks suspension by the end of the broadcast for his efforts...haven't heard boo about Brown. It was 20m off the ball FFS!Thinline wrote:...Kingy will not be pleased...degruch wrote:Looked contested to me, nothing in it. If Brown doesn't get 4 weeks though...

I dunno, i'm confused on the interpretation. Looked to me that Davis took his eyes off the ball and decided to go the bump instead of the ball. Plus I can't remember who but last week a player got reported for hitting someone in the head negligently.
I'd be surprised if he gets reported but its an annoying rule to try and understand.

In traditional footy, it was a fair contest. However, after watching it several times now, Davis did not attempt to mark and as the rules say, if there is head high contact, the player will be cited. I think he will be cited but may get off with a reprimand and some points against him.
As for Leigh Brown on Roo, I would like to see some other vision on that one.

Milan unfortunately is correct.
Davis hit Fisher in the head, IMHO it was in the contest and accidental, but it may get a look at the MRP.
Hope it doesn't, it was a good hard contest and just bad luck.

If Fisher's head was connected by Davis (and from teh vision I've seen on the replay there is no doubt that it was), even accidentaly, why wasn't he awarded a free kick?

Davis's original intent was to contest the mark but when he realised he wasn't going to make it he took his eyes off the ball, curled up and went for the bump.
His shoulder clearly hit Fisher in the head concussing him.
But no doubt, seeing that he is a Collingwood player and Collingwood is responsible for the largest gates and TV viewing audiences, the match review panel will rule it as only minor impact and thus not reportable.
Head high contact however caused has always a free kick in the AFL but then Plugger needs to defend his umpires incompetence with his own.
