The Last Straw for Zac
That was a plain awful attempt at defending that resulted in the Ryder goal.
He is not a fullbacks a-hole and is so easily exploited one on one deep forward.
Blah!

Zac obviously has some incriminating photos of Ross if he stays in next week. Even if Johnson isn't ready or Gaertner I bet they watch the ball!

Absolutely pitiful !
He must have caused 10 goals today...Has to go but have no one to replace him thanks to our wonderful list managers.
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!

Re: The Last Straw for Zac
haha, my opinion was that Ross may be too proud to drop him and admit he should have played Max in thr GF (it may not have changed the result) and that Dawson needs more time at Sandy.Saint4Eva wrote:Saintsfan wrote:That was a plain awful attempt at defending that resulted in the Ryder goal.

All week I'd tipped the Bombers, yesterday I tipped the Saints...never should I be so harsh or critical of a player.....but I forgot Dawson was in the side!....FFS!!!! I know Gwilt was a whipping boy and blah blah blah...but in a window of opportunity, like you'd suspect we have....would you ever in a million years trust our defensive 50 in the hands of Dawson!??
In his defense, he does have plenty going for him. He's got spark, fitness and enthusiasm...but what he does not have is the common nous that goes with a defensive position he plays (or attempts to!)....some times I rue the day we left Maxie out of the 2009 GF!! (again FFS!!!!). Gwilt was our whipping boy once and has turned it around....but right now Dawson is killing us! Forget Raph Clarke.....he's a gun compared to this bloke! Harsh but true! Sorry Zac!

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Zac is OK if he has back-up but when he is one on one he is invariably beaten. He doesn't look at the ball for a start when he's in a contest.
God knows why we let goose go but it's too late to whinge about that now.
I think Gwilt is improving his composure and maybe he could be tried in Zac's place.

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

At the game and Dawson was not to blame for the goals.
The ball came through the midfield at such speed noone would have had a chance.
He was more often than not caught having to decide whether to go at the ball carrier or defned his man and as such got found in the middle of no where.
Look to the lack of mid field pressure for the goals kicked on him.

Zac needs to put on some weight and some muscle. I think he can get back to - and better - his 2009 form, but he looks far too thin to be effective one out.

I was there too and saw a bloke that looked a lot like Zac watching his man and not having a clue where the ball was. He's been doing it all year.terry smith rules wrote:At the game and Dawson was not to blame for the goals.

In retrospect, unless Walsh or Winmar wins multiple Brownlows, it is the off-season from hell.Captain Impossible wrote:Yeah, why exactly was Goose let go?? 2009 = worst trading year for a long time. Even Ball would have been a contributor instead of a passenger.Toy Saint wrote:Bring in Max or Goose
