Don't underestimate the importance of this game.
A lot of people are suggesting we will get more from a loss than a win.
But what can the St Kilda Football Club take from Geelong with a win?
Many are suggesting the Cats are playing the best football they have in recent history.
What will a St Kilda victory strip from them? That aura of invincibility they seem to emanate. The belief they are the best and are deserving of another premiership.
Doubt festers. When we meet them in the finals we will carry with us that psychological edge. I truly believe we had it last year after the round 14 victory. We were just very unlucky to surrender the lead in the final minutes.
So while a loss will not be the be-all and end-all, I believe a win will be absolutely enormous. GO SAINTS!
NB: I believe the absence of Roo and Gram is countered by the absence of Chapman and Corey.
Tonight – it's not what we can get, but what we can take!

A win tonight will obviously build some confidence.
However it means little with regard to our chances in September.
The coach and players know this.
I agree with what Ross says. It's simply 4 points which will help us earn a top
4 spot.
We can't feel too comfortable with a win. They have Ottens, Hawkins, Rooke
Correy and Chapman out.
If we play them in the GF this year it will most likely not be the same side as
tonight.
We need another 4 points with no injuries or controversy.
However it means little with regard to our chances in September.

Chapman, on a wet night, is a massive loss. No doubt about it.
I took note of Pickering's comments on AFL Teams: He tipped the Cats and said "I'm not sure when the Cats last lost one in the wet."
He's right, I reckon. They are a great wet weather side.
That's why it would be a grand and meaningful win if we get up.

We are without Zac and Raph as well.
Our back 6 is still number 1 in the competition, conceding 70 points per game.
One third of that back 6 is out.
That is my big concern.
So the midfield and forwards have to defend as well as attack to stop the Cats defensive rebound and clean supply to the forwards.

If we are to win we need to take our chances for a change. Convert.
And strangle the bejezzus out of them.
I think it is going to be one of those games.
Defence starts at full forward.

If we get within 6 goals of them I will be satisfied. The rain should help???
I am going to be watching to see if they play Stanley on Scarlett because Scarlo has always run off Gehrig and Kosi in the past and I hope Stanley runs him down to deny their run out of the backline.
