Forget this 4 seperate charges justifying the suspension.

Baker 4 charges = 12 weeks
Johnson 2 charges = 3 weeks (the elbow that busted his eye open was only deemed as medium impact BTW)

Yet a headlock is fine, an errant elbow requiring 5 stitches is not enough force to warrant a report and Barry Hall's cowardly punch on Staker was what 7??

Going further this is a worse penalty than Caven's headbutt to Plugger's elbow.

Even Lynch's brawling with Wakelin in the 2004 Grand Final with double loading only incurred a 1 week extra ban.

On any balance of fairness this comes up short.

Yeah, the mods or admin should have the ability to merge threads and I am sure if battye logs on he would be able to do it

Unfortunately the version of Forum software used atm does not have a merge facility

Trust me would have been used gazillions of times already if it were possibly (the 145 threads on Andrew Lovett being a recent example lol)

What about all the precedents that have been set? I can't believe the MRP are this gullible and stupid. Most of the hits to Stevie J were minor love taps and taken in isolation would constitute nothing more than a warning. The hitting of an injured body part, well f%ck me, if a player is going to stay out on the ground with an obvious injury, he is going to be targetted - we have seen it countless times this year. Smacking a player on the hand is hardly grounds for a report. I used to laugh at some of the posts claiming conspiracies on here, but this is a fair dinkum joke.

So in essence what they are saying is that if a player antagonises you, he will get double the weeks than a bloke who smacks you with an elbow in retaliation.

THis is a friggen joke. I have never seen such an obvious targetting of a player in all my life of following footy.
