Top 4 a great achievement !

Post: # 972462Post saint patrick »

Given losing Nick for 12 weeks and other challenges like the Bakes fit up job.

Be happy guys but this is where it begins..

Just loved the shot of Ross bashing the board re KPI's...

Have a good feeling about our timing this year...

Yeah, and had a few other distractions as well. Agree with you, a great effort.

I'll third that one.

We aren't there yet, but at least we can be very confident of making the Prelims, and fairly confident of a Grand Final berth.

To actually think of us winning the flag, well, we have a few practice matches left to find enough form to carry us on to September I'm hoping!

All you can do when the top 4 are all-Victorian, then we start again.

Few other teams wouldve dealt the way we have with the drama's we've had on and off field this year.
> Lovett: was almost a mistake within a month of trading for him: drunk in fitzroy st and then the rape allegations.
> Riewoldt missing for 12 weeks. Arguably the most valuable player to any one team in the comp.
> Milney and Joeys investigation coming up again.
> Baker disgracefully wiped from the game for 9 weeks.

Very proud of the boys - and excited by the fact nothing but the best is accepted, as shown by Ross at 3 quarter time.

Yep...not to mention the sex with school girl allegations and our past association with Brian Waldron.

It has been a busy year but so far our boys have managed to keep inside their supposed 'bubble' and not let it affect their performances.

Keep it up boys!!!

Couldnt agree more. It is a good achievement to get to where we are now, considering so many wrote us off as not even being able to make the 8 without Roo. Long way to go I agree but good work so far.

I also liked when Ross showed the emotion like he did, in my opinion it means a lot and made the boys take notice because he doesnt seem to act that way normally. I like his calm nature but good to know he can step it up when need be.

Im keeping the faith in our sainters

Considering it will be only the second time in our history that we have finished top 4 in 3 or more consecutive seasons, it is quite an achievement.

This group having been put together after the horrific years at the turn of the century have been busy doing what not a lot of St Kilda teams have done.

Consecutive wins, record winning margins against clubs, record winning streaks against clubs, consecutive finals series.

Obviously there is only one measure for ultimate success but it must be said that this group has been doing all they can to give themselves a shot at.

There has been a steely resolve about them this year, let's hope it takes them where only Saints side has gone before, it will be a well deserved victory if it does.

You can add:

Pre season Luke Ball controversy.
Milne and old turd Malthouse stoush.
Gilbert/Armo young school girl thing
The Lovett committal hearing......

have I missed anything?

Add getting pantsed by the filth and the scum (ending our joyous run)... and to a marginally less traumatic extent, the bummers and port.

I've said it all year, I don't think Collingwood or Geelong can play any better, but I know we can.

Agree 100% They cannot play any better, we are only playing at 70% efficiency and intensity at the moment, if we lift to 95% we shall cream both teams, 100% and the flag is in the bag.

Gram was injured about as long as Roo. Was one of our best last year.
Put that one down as well.

So to all of those doomsdayers a few weeks ago after we lost to Essendon, I guess the sun did come up the following day???

I will still back us in to win against anyone on our day and all we can do is be there. Difference between 1 and 4 means sfa now.

Gram was one of our best in the Grand Final, but he hadn't had the best year to that point.
