another coaching change

Good Luck Andy

SANDRINGHAM is searching for a new senior coach after Andy Lovell resigned this evening.
Lovell, the development coach at Sandy's VFL partner St Kilda, is returning to Perth.

I wonder what the chances for the Reserves Coach- who seems to have a reasonable record and rapport with the group

A total clear out from our coaching staff for next year.

Elsaugh SOS Lovell...

That's a lot of new blood coming in all at once. Could be great and creative, or indicate frailty within the club.

But there's no reason to believe that everyone is leaving on good terms.

I personally think a rotation of assistants every few years will keep the team in touch with other teams and trends.

Wonder if we will look at Harvey or Maxie. Looks like King has a coaching job next year too.

On average 50+ assistants move out of their current roles.

MUst keep Tudor unless he gets a senior gig. Look at all the successful clubs recently have kept top line assistants for a long time - Sanderson, Clarkson before that, Odonnell and Lambert.

Woowodein may be an options or go after someone else at another club, Neeld from Collingwood is very highly rated by their players (inside word).

Good point Plugger... the name alone does not necessarily mean that he is a quality coach. Would like independant feedback before we employ anyone of our favourite sons in a coaching position. We have made that mistake in the past.

I think Tudor will stay as long as we want, unless Hinkley gets a senior gig.
I believe they are close mates, like Lyon and SOS.

Good point P66 - granted he was a marvellous player but it doesn't mean he is great coach. ??

In some capacity he would be very good. Would you say he was a gifted player or a hard worker that ticked every box before he went out?

Apparently Simon Goodwin is strongly linked with a move to StKilda to start coaching next year

Should have added that Neil Craig has touted him as a future coach, said that he has always had a lot of the attributes that make a good coach.

In that case, sounds good to me.

Always seemed like a decent bloke on the field, and a very solid captain.

I can't imagine Harvs as a senior coach but he might be quite good as an assistant.

Word is Goodwin is rated very strongly as an assistant and we are certainly in the market for a few. If we don't grab him, someone will. Most clubs have a fairly recently retired player on the assistant coaching staff.
I hope we get him.
