Well done - good analysis. :)

Cripps named captain
6:45:41 PM Fri 19 April, 2002
Chris McAsey
saints.com.au
Less than a year ago, there was doubt whether Jason Cripps would ever play football again after a series of debilitating back-related hamstring injuries. This weekend, he will write another chapter in a football journey full of courage after being named captain of the Saints in the absence of Robert Harvey.

Cripps made an inspirational return to the Saints team during the 2001 season after battling the career-threatening injuries and related mental lows over a three-year period.

Cripps had to undergo several operations after his hamstring detached from the bone in 1998, and all in all, the 1997 Grand Final player missed almost three full seasons of football.

He will captain the side on Sunday against Geelong as part of the captaincy rotation policy recently put in place at the club. While no vice captains were named this season, match day captaincy duties will rotate among a group of senior players in the absence of Robert Harvey.

Last week, Aaron Hamill answered the call with a typically committed performance in a disappointing loss to Port Adelaide. Perhaps this week, Cripps can complete a happy ending to this chapter of his football story by leading the club to a win over Geelong.

Yes it was Jason Cripps.
A great honour but not a fitting result for a great clubman.

Your turn Torque it up.

Just need to know where to look...

Here's an easy one...

2004 was a great year for Saints to kick goals.

G-Train got 103 (including finals)
Roo got 67
Yapper got 46
MiniG got 29
Hammer got 27

Who was next on the list and what was his biggest bag in 2004?

Travis Payze article, Herald-Sun, 04/05/05

Post: # 98264Post Grimfang »

I don't know if anyone saw this article in the paper today. I couldn't find a link for it on the website. It was an interview style article with Ron Reed.

Travis has been fighting prostate cancer for two-and-a-half years. This is under control at the moment, but he's undergoing chemotherapy because it appears he's got bone cancer as well.

The interview also covers the recruiting that went on at the time Travis was President and also some of the problems they faced.

If it's not presumptuous of me, I'd like to wish him well in his fight against the cancer.

EDITED TO ADD: I couldn't work out where this had gone! I thought I had set it up as a new post. That will teach me to try and post whilst talking to a client and taking notes.

OK - let's make it another easy one (for someone else to jump in?)

Who is the player who has kicked 1.9 so far this year?
(Not a very well known player and not many posts about him.)

Allright - serious question now (still an easy one)
The fab five of the Saints collected 400+ possies each in the 2004 H&A season (excluding finals).

Lenny 453
Bally 442
Harves 435
Dal 426
Aussie 419

Who was next on the list?
