Baker faces 'Hudghton farewell'
VETERAN St Kilda defender Steven Baker may endure the same heartbreak story as club warrior Max Hudghton last season.

FFS, even if bakes doesnt get back this year, id be expecting he plays on next year. He has been in good form this year before the suspension

Maybe the chance of Baker being suspended for hurting Johnson's feelings was too great so they decided not to risk him facing the MRP.

no doubt it would be better for Bakes to not return against the Cats... granted the pre-lim is a tough time for a return but the AFL through the umps would have been looking to take control right away.

Free kicks would have been paid whether they were there or not

I still reckon Bakes might just be sighted and get suspended during the week.

We cant let people like this sit in the stands watching the game. Its not in the spirit of the game.

although I like many assume they mean he may retire without playing

BUT just had a thought- maybe he means that he may miss playing in the Grand Final?/ finals

I agree with this - the 'distraction' wasn't there so that the focus was the game. Gotta admit that Bakes cut a 'forlorn' figure sitting in the stands - my heart went out to him - I want him to come back!!!!!

Seeing how they quoted farewell as well I'm thinking they mean he might miss out on the Grand Final in a similar way to the way Max did last year. They're not necessarily saying he's gonna retire cos he can't get his spot back.

That's my take on it anyway.
