Rooey will coach St Kilda in the future

Post: # 995773Post saintspremiers »

There you go.

That's my early call.

Might be 10 years away, but will happen.

He's a natural leader, are smart tool in the shed, and knows a bit about the game.

Thoughts?

Probably,

Harves may get in first, although Jeans had a few years after his premiership so Ross should be safe for a while.

Might be a good Forward coach with Lenny midfield and max down back

Harvey will never be a senior coach.

Agree. He doesn't have the personality to cope with the full media etc that would be required. I also don't think he would be ruthless enough.
Seems a good prospect as an assistant though.

I think Roo will do very well in the media if that's the way he wants to go. Will command a lot of respect. I liked Buckley last year and Harley this year in the media and gave me a greater appreciation for them. I think Roo would be very good at this. I also think he would be a good coach. His coach thinks so too

I'm inclined to agree with BS.

Long way to go but doubt Roo has any interest in coaching.

Certainly don't think Max will stay at the filth much after this weekend!

Ok, this isn't about Roo as a coach in the future but about him generally:

I reckon he could play till about 36, the same as Lynchy did for the Lions. He could just stay in the square for longer as he gets older. With a good team around him, he could jag a ton even.

I see BJ as the most likely to be an AFL coach.

He already has the pointing and screaming down pat... and I can picture him smashing phones.

Very true

Though he might need to learn to control it a bit. Apparently Buckley is a really good coach and yet was an angry young man as a younger player so there's hope for BJ yet.
