With close to no injuries, we doing Doggies 2016 run from 7th?
The dogs did finish 7th, but that was on 15 wins, only 2 behind the ladder leaders. They also won 3 of there last 4 H&A games.

I’m afraid we’re a long way from that atm. We need the boys to recapture some early season form and beat GWS, then go in to Finals with a bit of confidence.

f*** that weak as piss attitude. You play footy to play finals. If you get beat, you get beat.

Only St Kilda supporters can truly understand the desperate if naive hope that the Footy Gods will grant our wish.

It would be very St Kilda to it in the Covid Cup year

Mate you are a supporter that’s been through a lot of heartache .. I understand . But don’t you have a 1% of ‘what if’ still within you? ‘What if’ we get our running game going in the first final and win. ‘What if’ we somehow re-invent our game plan over the 1 week break before the finals and bamboozle a few sides and knock them over. You gotta have some hope!

8th would mean we play WCE in Perth...worst possible outcome. Must win games from here on...

I feel like I’ve been saying ‘what if’ after every game the last 6 weeks! We say ‘surely they’re going to change this horrible game plan next week’ and they don’t, ‘surely we’re going to get back to form next week’ and we don’t, ‘surely we’re not just going to bomb it in long against West Coast’ and that’s all we do.

We haven’t played well since round 9. We’ve lost a number of games we should have won easy. I honestly think if we produce the same rubbish against GWS but still fall into finals, then having to play West Coast in Perth, it will do more damage to our side than good.

The ‘what if’ I’m hanging on to is if we come out and legit beat GWS, showing what we showed in the first half of the year, then go in to the first week of the finals against Collingwood/Dogs with a bit of form and a real chance to get a win!

I’m more shocked so many are happy to fall over the line into finals on the back of 1 win out of 5 and playing some truly uninspiring football. The most likely end to that scenario is a 10 goal flogging at the hands of West Coast, which I really don’t want!

Let’s just beat GWS!

Looks to me like by Melbourne beating GWS, it’s essentially become St.K, WB, and Melbourne competing for 2 spots
St.K, WB, Melbourne AND GWS competing for 2 spots

Pies can still fall out of the 8.
Blues in theory can make the 8.

Team probably most likely to make the are the Dogs. Then Pies (beating the Suns gets them in), Saints, Dees, GWS and then a long, long way back the Blues.

Saints probably a Bees Dick in front of Dees as some of the if we lose scenarios still see us in the eight on % and if we win we are definitely in.
If Dees thump the Dons they go in front of us though and spoil our party.
GWS have to thrash us and hope that Dees do not win, and that Dogs drop at least one game, or it is curtains for them. Though a small Dees win could see GWS sliding past the Dees.

Dogs playiing Freo (who area chance to win) is going to keep some teams waiting for that result to know if they are playing final or not

15 wins is the equivalent of 11.5 wins this year.

Who says we play WCE in Perth? Why do they get a home final?
What about 2 wk quarantine?

The gap 8th to 1st isn’t as high as other years.

We’ve beaten Port and Richmond
Lost to Brisbane and Melbourne by a kick, WCE by 3 goals
We beat the Doggies

Collingwood pantsed us but aren’t in the form they were...
Geelong is the only really scary team for us but have been shown up by others, maybe someone else can do the dirty work for us

If we get back close to what we’re capable of and make some semi reasonable decisions, we could give it a shake
Are you kidding?

Seriously?
We would get smashed by Footscray, Melbourne, Brisbane, Collingwood and West Coast on Sunday.

The only team we would beat tomorrow is North

There is a bye before the first week of finals so it’s possible.

We’ve played WCE and Melb recently and should have won both
