We shouldn't be afraid, we need to take the tough decisions and delist players: trade Steele and King to Hawthorn for pick #7. I'm sure that's what Sunny Ernie would suggest we should do.Stian wrote: ↑Tue 19 Apr 2022 2:55pmI read at the time that it was for the balance of their list - he was 27 yrs old (I think) and they wanted to put more games into their younger defenders.magnifisaint wrote: ↑Sun 17 Apr 2022 3:54pm No way Leinart is out. He's a damn good player who knows how to hit a target. I can't understand how Port delisted him. They have no idea.
I mean, look at Port, they had the guts to clear out a list-clogger like Lienert. Now look at how they're going: that's what we want to see.

Now knowing who is and isn't available:
In : Webster
Out Windheager (sub)
Long out of the backline.
Webster or Paton gets Greene unless out of the square and Wilkie takes him then.

I'd be surprised if Windy came out for JWeb.older saint wrote: ↑Thu 21 Apr 2022 11:23am Now knowing who is and isn't available:

What's the bet GWS are banking on us being hyoer-vigilent about Toby G and making arrangements for us, trying to catch us wrong footed?
What are the odds they'll succeed?

They don't play games, second-guessing the oppo in that way.
I actually don't know what you're saying TBH.
We'll be thinking of who goes to the little thug, and a second option in case our first guy gets touched up early.
GWS will just be putting their best side on the park.
That's about it.

I don't think Toby would have any friends within the umpiring fraternity at the moment.

This ^^
Umps have been under the pump recently about all sorts of things, but one thing all humans do when under pressure, is staying predictable with what we know best.
We stick with old habits because it helps us focus.
I think all umps are 'hyper-vigilant' about Greene's antics, and he'll be watched closely.
I expect Greene won't get any easy free kicks at all.
If he throws his arms and yells (he might be hyped up for his first game and andrenaline kicks in)
then expect very quick 50m call, as umps react to a 'known troublemaker'.
Kind of like US cops racial profiling POC (people of colour) for a traffic stop.

Lienert, Battle, Wilkie, Howard are a great combo.
Dropping L for Web is insane.
Ridiculous
More than enough run out of backline,
Lienert is a much better kick than JWeb.
Was it last wk or wk before that Jarrod DE was 96%?
Edit: it was vs Hawks, on Saints twitter

Re: Ins and outs v Giants
I’d love to see Tom Highmore play (noticed he is one of 4 emergencies heading up there)
Canberra is his hometown, but…more importantly we need guys prepared to put their body on the line and their nose over the footy
I can understand if we don’t have too many tall blokes in the backline because we’re going to need speed to counter Bobby Hill and Toby Greene and their forwards

I would like to know what benefit Webster brings at the expense of Lienert?
Not knocking Webby at all, just asking.
I’m not convinced on Battle yet, but all and sundry say he’s been great.

I think Lienert is a smart ball user, and better than JW at that. Not sure the logic behind it to be honest, as JW isn't that quick.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Thu 21 Apr 2022 9:29pmYes,WellardSaint wrote: ↑Thu 21 Apr 2022 7:30pm Lienert, Battle, Wilkie, Howard are a great combo.
