But it meant that the Pies had a 7 man forward line.
The Saints defenders were zoning and not just Raph.... (which means as per zoning that most defenders played off their men, otherwise it would not be a zone defence) and with a zone the more people in a given space the easier it it is for the zone to work....and the more crucial it is is for the ream entering to have very precise kicking.
Again Raph played well..very well....and his form over the last month has been good.
But again the Pies made it easier for our defence with poor kicking (which as others have noted was in part due to our midfield pressure) and option selection ....and in Malthouse playing the 7 forwards which crowded things.
