Just not our day.
What it shows is that we are lacking an "attacking" plan B. RL clearly has all of the tricks for other situations, but we don't often find ourselves in the situation of being 7 goals down.
For instance, in the last few minutes of the 3rd quarter, we simply should not be trying to go backwards and switch play, etc. We need goals, they need to take risks by going through the corridor and playing on at all costs. Kicking long even, just to get the ball in our forward line.
I suspect it's too late now to start playing that way as we are just too many goals down, but we will certainly take something out of this match. We need that "attacking" plan B.

saints 1 goal 6 behinds in the 3rd
collingwood 4 goals straight
atleast 4 of our behinds were getable
shouldve been 5 goals 2 atleast that quarter
again we are our own worst enemy
collingwoods pressure has been pretty good but our decision making has been shocking
again handballing back into play even hayes is falling to the ground
in the packs theyve been hungrier
only way we gonna win this is if we flick the switch and straighten up infront of goal
theyve only had the same amount of chances as us at goal (taking out the rushed behinds)

You guys are a f****** joke. It's been a bad day.saintkid wrote:I'm with you. Add Peake and Kos***ske to that list. He came back again to be MIA after 2 weeks off. His body language is pathetic as is most of the time. For his size he is a poor competitor.saintbob wrote:Dawson, Pattison, Gram and McQualter have got to go!!!
Get over it!
Oh When The Saints Go Marching In.......
Collingwood have played very well, there is no doubt about that.Life Long Saint wrote:1.6 to 4.0
Could've been in with a real shot had we kicked straight.
Only 38 tackles to 3/4 time. Pretty ordinary!
Having said that, there is no way they could have had any more luck in this game. That McQualter goal that bounced at right angles after being dead straight, Leon Davis getting a toe on that ball, that ridiculous holding the ball where play on was called when clearly a free kick was there for us, etc.

Clearly we do need that attacking plan B because we are in the situation right now where it is needed.degruch wrote:Had we kicked straight we wouldn't need an attacking plan B.battye wrote:What it shows is that we are lacking an "attacking" plan B. Can imagine there will be calls for 10 heads after this one but i'm pretty prepared to write this one off as just a dirty day at the office across the board - save for BJ who has been excellent.
A win was probably more important to Collingwood and in the end that's been evident in the contrasting performances. They've wanted it more today. Not that that is acceptable.
We've had some shocking skill errors, but if you were gonna sack those who've butchered it today there would be 15 changes next week. Collingwood's pressure has been too good for us today. But we'll bounce back.
Roo is still getting match fitness. We didn't take the risk with Dal. If we meet in the first week of the finals, I'd still be confident of turning things around.

A loss here means jackshit - they wont get near us in the finals - loving the fact that filth will now be installed as Premiership favourites and every d**khead expert will jump on their bandwagon - all of a sudden the pressure is off us and all on their shoulders
