Showed a bit of promise but will definitely need to improve his kicking significantly. Kicks lots of odd spinning balls and panics a bit under pressure. I would keep him for at least another year though to see if he can improve those aspects of his game.

Deserves another year.

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

Went on a bit of run at one stage bouncing the ball.
Perhaps a sign that his confidence is improving.
Certainly deserves another year.

Or offer him to Essendon at a "Bona fide Watson" and they might give us 2nd round pick.

Do you think the side would miss him going forward?
If we dump everyone the side won't miss immediately then there'll only be about ten on the list.

I'm pretty sure they called his cousin a "plodder" in his first 2-3 yrs, give the kid a break he'll come good with more game time.

I actually think he is actually better than Jabber Watson was at the same stage, keeper for mine at least for a season or two

Have said this before and still believe it to be the case. Seb is improving incrementally. He isn't going to be the sort that makes massive improvements in short periods of time, and have a break out season. He will just gradually get better and better to the point where he becomes a regular player who consistently does his job, week in week out, without ever being an elite superstar. I dont think he is far off being that permanent fixture - maybe next year, maybe the year after.

I like him - he's a keeper imho.

He looks suitable enough. If he becomes a B-grader inside mid then we are happy.

Who cares if he cannot run, if he is tough in and around the contest he will play his role.

He will but only if we dont have 3 or 4 the same as it seems we do now. Some of them will have to change their game or move on.

Listening to Richo's presser - you'd have to think that we will be keeping Ross and trying to develop him! Just going by Richo's comments.

I think his past month has been really good for his confidence. He's not super quick but seems adept on both sides of the body which is a bonus when you aren't quick and play in the midfield. He works hard both ways as well. The self belief that Richo talks about is directed at guys like Seb and Jack, they are capable of impacting but they just need to do it consistently throughout a game.

Richo:

"I think Sebby Ross is going to be an outstanding inside AFL midfielder, but right now he's not getting it done on a consistent basis. He's showing glimpses of what we're after but at times he's waiting for others, and that's what it looks like. We'll continue to work with him, as we will with all our players."

Vote of confidence, I suppose.

Confidence has definitely gone up as of late. Taking that extra second to look for the right target or take that extra step rather than just slamming it on the boot at first impulse. Improvement is clearly evident. I like him.
