Ahh no...he was returning, as I was, from stuffing his face with overpriced MCG food ;-) If he was staking he was keeping it well hidden :-)

below is the e-mail i sent to the club to try and get the ball rolling, now its up to us.. please post your preferred players and i will pass them on.

Hi Daniel

Sorry about the late reply, I wasn’t in the office yesterday.

It’s great to see you guys are keen to get on board the player sponsorship again next year!

The setup for next year’s package is looking to be a little different to the previous couple. Nothing has actually been finalised as of yet so I can’t go into detail, but I will definitely let you know as soon we confirm everything.

Costing won’t differ dramatically from last year. Maybe organise a list of preferred players you would like to sponsor and send them through to me so I can keep you posted on availability.

Thanks for your email Daniel

Kind Regards

Subject: player sponsorship

Hi Alex,

I am a member of the saintsational forum, and we are trying to organise

player sponsorship again for next season.

I was just wondering what players were available, and the cost. We are

hoping to raise around $1500-$2000, with a very large amount of posters

already showing interest. We have a poster who will pay all funds up front,

so we will not have issues raising the money. I believe the forum has

sponsored a player for the last 2 seasons.

If you could give me any information, so we can get this off the ground,

it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Daniel

Great work fonz ...

I think a youngster is a good idea (cheaper + need our support more + it's more fun)

I'll make a poll, and see which player receives the most support.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

That's terrific ... I've posted a poll, so by Monday you can just pass on the top 3-4 names in that poll (which I suspect will include Gilbo somewhere near the top of the list)

I think it was 2005 or even 2004 that SS sponsored before this year and the player was Jason Gram - with heaps of the workload carried by Riccardo.

much better if decided early and paid up front.

I am in for a share or two. My vote is for Gilbo (or Havs but that ain't likely).

I will be overseas for a couple of weeks (and prob out of net access) but I am definitely in.

Details have been finalised and should be revealed here next week. Payment will commence about a week after that.

Remain tight lipped by just posting it on here....That way you wont have to utter a word.

the 4 players who were the highest vote getters in the poll were the ones i requested prices and availability on. i have been told the availability of players is fine and was given rough ideas of prices. i was told not to post the prices yet.

And does the "Leadership Group $1900" mean we could maybe get Robert Harvey for $1900?

If so, I would be prepared to pay a little extra to get the Legend in what probably is his last season.
