Not real flash as a forward either, drops his head when in front in marking situations.

We are going to end up like Melbourne or Carlton and be lost in the wilderness for years to come otherwise, as the losses are becoming systemic. Its destroying the players.
Seems clear that Richardson’s contract is what’s governing the decision making process.
Reason he wasn’t sacked at the end of last year was the $650,000 payout we’d have had to make.
Reason he hasn’t been sacked this year is that whilst we are still a mathematical possibility to make finals, he is still technically able to deliver on the clause that says he has to win a final to carry on next year. Likely financial arse covering exercise in progress is that we wait until it’s certain we can’t make finals - maybe then they will act - or maybe wait until year’s end.
Either way, this farce appears to be drawing to a close.
This is the issue, but not even arse covering. At $12m in debt it’s not our money to spend and AFL ain’t approving a payout.

Cos they fall asleep during his halftime talks it seems
If his half time speeches are anything like the press conferences then no wonder they lose interest.

Not looking, missing opportunities, kicking (not-miskicking) to bad situations. I get what they are trying, but Richmond just clogged up their options and just waited for the pressure to build.
Stopping, propping, going sideways, backwards and bombing the ball long cost us the game. Richmond took the game on and created chances.
We were playing some sort of keepings off bruise free footy. It was obviously what the coach had instructed. Ok if you want to do it for a minute or two, but we were playing that way from the start of the third quarter. We got smashed in the second half because Richmond sensed that we became timid.

Team tackle count was atrocious. The stats don't lie when it comes to the contest either. Hannas and Ross are supposed to lead the team out there. The same guys went missing when it came to tackles and contested possessions.

Tigers just waited for the turnover - we were just so super predictable - then they just move the ball forward at all costs - they even handballed their way out from full back just before 3 quarter time after we kicked a behind - too easy!!

Yes. It is written on his arms and neck, so he can remind the umps of it at every opportunity
I believe it translates as "Thou shalt never ever be pinged for HTB irrespective of how long he holds it or how he disposes of it".

How good was that fake on the handball before that pass that goal assist. The man can win a Brownlow in 5 years!

Watching from level 3 it was very frustrating to see pointless switch after pointless switch, ending up in a much worse position having to bomb down the line, often when there was someone in initially in the corridor.

Richmond would have been loving it.

At level 1 I saw a player with the ball on the wing, another was well free and alone at half forward but the bloke with the ball didn’t see him. Why? Because he only looked sideways. He did not even look ahead.
This is stupid, robotic over coaching devoted to destroying flair and attack for the sake of some “ plan” not to advance the ball until the forward line is utterly flooded. Time and again we saw the kicks backward and across to end up on the other side no further forward and the exact same congestion ahead. This is why we score so little.
When it was in time on in the first and second quarters we played circle work without advancing, because they didn’t want to get the coaches’ upcoming blast for not sticking to” the plan” . The reason teams go well after a coach is sacked is that the shackles are freed, they can play briefly as footballlers not robots until the new coach can impose their “ plan” on every aspect of the play.
Dull coaches like Richo kill their own teams first and footy itself next.

I only watched on the app, but I noticed this too. I think they were trying to follow a system, wait for a 'crack to appear' and not turn it over, but they missed good opportunities along the way and it looked like Richmond read us pretty easily. I suppose it is pretty basic stuff tactically but we were trying to execute something. Unfortunately, we shot ourselves, or Richmond just walked over us.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Yes - I wonder how much Richmond were creating it this way?
