Collingwood cr@p.
St Kilda the laziest team.
Game won, go to sleep, no effort.

If Collingwood kicks straight in the final quarter they could have won.

At least they did the synchronised breathing at three-quarter time. Always works.

He wont go anywhere with games like that. I wonder if he was playing injured, if so what are the club doing? If not he has shown he lacks any mental fortitude at all.

He would need a significant lift to attract a 1st round pick either by compensation or otherwise.

Great call

How did you know in the second quarter when we were 4 goals up that we’d double our lead and then nearly lose it?

We have some problems

1. Dougal taking kick outs AGAIN late in games bombing to packs - no lead up just kick abs hope
2. Hard pressure game plan - it’s clear we can’t sustain it for 4 quarters because we aren’t fit enough to
3. Transition from defence - stop and proppy only decent if Hill does a handball receive
4. Forward 50 entry - especially the last kick ...our first choice is to just bomb it long....dumb dumb dumb
5. Forwards - zero movement, no lead up options just school footy pack marking attempts
All this win does is hide these problems - Ratten has 1 year to adddess his Achilles is
1. No more blow outs - unacceptable
2. No more last quarter fade outs - North, Crows and now Pies ....just shyte house

Bad sign that against the Tigers we didn't miss him at all and today you didn't notice him.

It took a while to resond but great to get the win.

It felt like we missed some speed through the guts when they got a run on. I don't mean leg speed, just reaction time and urgency, it was a little lax for my linking.

Jacks Back wrote: Sun 04 Jul 2021 6:53pm How thick is Marshall running around the mark after the siren
He is actually allowed to do that after the siren. The rule was changed last year to allow for the screw kick:

20.5 KICKING FOR A GOAL
20.5.1 Line of The Mark
Where a Player from the Attacking Team is Kicking for a Goal after being awarded a Mark
or a Free Kick, the Kick shall be taken along a direct line from The Mark to the centre of the
Attacking Team’s Goal Line, except in the following cases:
(a) where the Mark or Free Kick is awarded within or on a line of the Goal Square, the
Kick shall be taken from directly in front of the Goal Line from a spot horizontally
across from where the Mark or Free Kick was awarded;
(b) where the Kick will occur after the siren, the Player shall be entitled to approach
The Mark from any direction, as long as the location of the Kick does not improve
the angle to the goal posts

So, he can run to the straight line but not past it. Despite that, the umpire did call play on.

Means we are playing injured players or players struggling with form. We are decimated.

Great post. We played Collingwood almost at full strength today, while we had 11 of our best 22 out, at their home ground, and we still win. Great win Saints!

Okay, now take DeGoey, Pendelbury, and Elliot out of Collingwood's team today.

How close do they get today? Not within a bull's roar would be my guess.

Carna Sainters!

Jeez, can't even be happy with a win.
Of course they were rooted by the fourth quarter.

We had a hectic game against Tigers, this game we had all the ball running nonstop into the F50. Could've scored 400 pts but couldn't hit targets or take marks or got out started by defender. So by the fourth, we let off the gas to have little nap and it looks like Pies are great coming back but we just left the gate open.

It happens all the time to many teams.

Good win, great efforts all over the ground. Team is fit and just need to stay focussed.

Yep, and right on time here come the excuses!

Couldn’t blame the umps today so what’s next on the list… injuries! If not that then it’s the draw, or the break between games, or the travel, or the MRP, and on and on and on…

Im just glad the club never has to take responsibility for poor performances!

Then there’s the people who think StKilda have a list of 66 with three A Grade players for every position. No matter our injury list we have the ready made replacement.

Had good seats around the 50m line today and had a really good look at our fwd set up and it was painful to watch at times... They dont work together, they dont create space for eachother or make leads.

Who is our actual fwd line coach?

It obviously doesn't help when teammates up the ground don't get it down to them quick enough or fluff their kicks to the fwds but the 'fwd craft' really is pretty poor, its just a shame the team isn't getting the reward they deserve.

Been like this for a while too
It’s an absolute travesty - you have a skinny giant forward who IF allowed to run and jump at the footy lead up style would be hard to stop......,,instead we bomb it in king to top of his head and ask him to wrestle?????
I don’t accept King refuses to lead I think this is game plan/style but I agree part of the problem is our ball movement/transition from upfield
So forward line coaching - sack him
Transition coach - sack him
Get someone in with half a brain
IF we hit this forward line busy, on the move I think it’d also help bring smalls into the game more with more space to run into
We are just so predictable into forward 50 .....that last kick is stop, prop, bomb!!
