So if we work on the assumption that the rumours are correct (I know it is a dangerous assumption).

As of today:

Out: Maister, Milera, TDL, Dunny, CJ, Len-Dog, Gwilty, Stanley (8)
In: Petracca, Pick 21, Pick 22, Pick 41, Membrey, O'Shea, + (Minch, Shenton, Eli) (8)

Hopefully we can keep our hands on 41 to use on a kid - but we might lose that for either Membrey or O'Shea.

So Schneider is safe on current numbers.
O'Shea isn't on according to reports, meaning we will elevate Weller IMO.....

Bad deal, I would be unhappy with this.
Agree. Especially if you factor the development time for new kids. Jacl is currently equal to a 5-10pick in my opinion based on his development.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Maybe true given Jack's probable equivalent top 10 rating but perhaps Melbourne wants the big fella and petracca is left for the Saints?

The next pick would suit Saints too but we lose development time again for this deal so "No deal" in my book.

Do it for picks 2 and 3 lol
Picks 1 2 and 3 would be tempting

Anyone watching the #BainsLive?

Summary:

Lyons wont be leaving Adelaide this year.
Tom Boyd not leaving GWS this year - but next year he possibly will.
Someone asked about Adam Cockie :D . Played it with a straight bat and said we arent looking for inside mids as we already have Armo, Dunstan, Ross, Weller.
Club rates Ross highly.
Also said Armo and Jack wont be traded.

Said we rate the top 4 in the draft fairly evenly. No standout.

Indicated we are satisfied with having three trades inside 22.

Guarantees that Tim Membrey will be playing for St Kilda in 2015.

Mav Well signed until end of 2016.

Said draft is quite deep. Said club rapt we got Eli as a Rookie.

It would be nice of we can keep 41 and use it on a kid. Get Membrey some other way. This is the kind of thing that can really make a difference long term.
Put in the hard yards and look over the land for the best left at 41. Not just be 'oh its only 41' or just use it lazily on some kid from a local TAC cup side who lives near by (eg Crocker). I mean there has to a good player out there somewhere left after pick 40. History tells us there always is. Look at some of the players we have got after 40 e.g Sam Fisher and we he did for our club over the last decade.

Sounds like Membury will be in the PSD so we keep 41. I would go further and keep the next pick as well. What have we got to lose. Siposs, Simpkin. Seem like great guys but are only helping Sandy.

looks like rhys is the player the saints have shopped around for that extra pick.......i think on reflection that was always the plan......won't go through with it if they can turn pick 1 into two top 20 picks though...\

There are going to be some good players still available fore our third round pick. Touk Miller, Jayden McGrath, Brayden Maynard, or Oscar McDonald, may still be there.

Bold move. Not sure what to make of it. I wonder if one of the picks will now be used on a forward or whether we are backing in our existing forwards.

Could mean that we might pick Wright if we keep pick one, or if we get pick four we're hoping McCartin is avaliable.

Hope not - really want Petracca.

All purely speculation. If we keep pick one I think Petreacca is still most likely. Losing Stanley just adds to the intrigue.

if you get a bunch of high quality youth together over 3-5 years you can turn it around real quick.
Port have done it and I think we all expect the Lions to be a serious side next year. They have gone from spoon favourites to possible final 8 in 2 years.

Hopefully that's how it will work out. Wasn't that long ago our first pick was 25. This year we're going to have three inside that.

I know we would love to get Boyd ourselves, but how would this 3-way be?
GWS get 1 & Griffen
WBD get 22 & Boyd
STK get 4, 6 & 7

I now think we will Trade pick 1 to GWS for 4 & 7.

Select 2 meter Peter with pick 4 now Stanley has gone and get a mid with pick 7.

So, what have we gained so far? It looks like we were the least active club during this trade period. I wouldn't be surprised if we traded pick #1 for "magic beans"

What do you want the club to do? Trade for players we aren't interested in? Off load players for the heck of it?
Pelchan said we were aiming to get three picks in the first 20. We've three in the first 22 and if GWS come to the party we could have 2 or 3 in the top ten. We weren't able to do these deals earlier because we had to wait for other deals to go through.

I can't believe the Bulldogs can do a trade for Boyd, last year's no.1 draft pick, in 2 days but we can't do a trade for Membrane, a seconds player, in 2 weeks.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
