Or like a lot of deals made they have to say that. Im not saying one way or another but im not that naïve to think he can tell the truth.
Yep dishonesty is the way to go.........
Pretty standard corporate termination agreement, you don't want to bag the guy who is leaving, best to say that it was a mutual agreement.
Usually only say someone was terminated if something intolerable happens , like theft or other punishable crimes, sexual harassment cases etc, or other items that would bring the organisation into disrepute.
Covers both parties arses.. So to speak

And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf" 

I hope like hell we don't start trying to get every half good player on huge money for short term mediocrity.

Im unsure Pelchen has done anything that wouldn't be expected from a bottom side. Just because he gone it wont change our plans. The AFL would know its a long rebuild and also would know its the only way our club can at least reach the top 6 no matter how long it takes. Finnis could have easily overridden Pelchen this trading period if what you said was true. It looks like he didn't.
The one thing that sets Pelchens plan apart is a very strong focus on building through the draft. I think stuff like trading Stanley and letting players leave through FA is beyond what a lot of bottom of the table clubs would do. He's a polarising character Pelchen and not someone who would appeal to someone trying to turn the finances around quickly. It's a hard sell saying we will probably be worse again in 2015 sign up now.

I hope Elshaugh knows what hes doing come the draft. Im still not certain what Pelchen actually does.
If Bevo has taken on a powerful coaching position and Elshaugh does the drafting - what does the Pelch actually really do? Just be the boss at meetings and get the bigger muffins?

And as I said Finnis could have stopped it at anytime but he didn't. I wouldn't even slightly worry about him being gone as far as the rebuild goes.

Agree. I doubt that too much will change in the short term. Elshaug, and his fellow recruiters, will know who they want to draft. I'm sure they don't need Pelchan there holding their hand. While he may have been overseeing it all I doubt anyone at the club will lose any sleep over it.

http://www.sen.com.au/news/finnis-pelch ... t-amicable
St Kilda CEO Matt Finnis revealed that Pelchen resigned from his position after the review was completed, which revealed that the club needed to focus more on high performance and less on list management.

Pelchen joined the Saints nearly four years ago after a long tenure at Hawthorn that oversaw the 2008 premiership and the sustained success the club has achieved in recent seasons.

“Absolutely (an amicable decision), it’s something which Chris and I have worked hand in glove to review football at the end of the season,” Finnis told the Run Home on Tuesday afternoon.

“We’re really strong and have been really strong in the strategy in the list and recruitment, but felt that there was probably a harder edge and a bit more work we could do in terms of our football program itself and that’s the change we decided to make.

Somehow I now feel greater respect for The Pelican.

Otherwise, still pretty much "Meh".

Much ado about not much at all. Sounds like Finnis's SEN appearance was as per the corporate play book.

Just the way it is, no biggie.

After seeing the article on Liam Pickering I'm thinking agents not liking him is a good thing.

Actually the rot at Port and Hawthorn is the kind of rot I'm hoping we get our hands on.

Can someone please enlighten me as to Mr Pelchen's background in football. What qualifies him to have held such power at various clubs. At the end of the day its a no brainer that we will have to recruit some of the best talent so any one of us posters could probably identify that and at half the cost. The team is bigger than Mr Pelchen and whatever and wherever he ends up good riddance.Don't see what imprint he has left at our club.

When I heard the radio report I thought the backlash from trading Rhys might have come from members and players and he was sent to the executioner.

If we are having a 'backlash' from trading Rhys Stanley we are in worse trouble than I ever imagined.

Trading Jack Steven for pick 21 = backlash.
Trading Rhys Stanley for pick 21 = good work by club.
