Good win boys, got over a dangerous team. Would have liked a 5+ goal win, but I’ll take 3!

Totally out of gas at the end with the reduced bench.
Did well to hang on.

Congrats to Jack Newnes 150 games. Enjoy the gifted goal your old team gave you.

Would have been delighted pre-bounce with a 3 goal win, very happy now we've done over the Scum.

Hanners injured, no Jones, Carlton come at them and Long Clark Coffield and Paton stand tall lead by Marshall Steele and Ross when it counted. Could have won this by 10 but from where I stand it is very exciting. Good team effort again. Next week we may see Byrnes or Bytel and get Jones back. Go Saints.

Coffield was awesome, really glad we're able to get games into these kids, and winning games at that.

Even with some of the experienced heads like Carlisle or Hill having quiet days the young lads were up to it

Have the last 2 games put to bed the debate over Marshall v Ryder?

Bruce missed a big opportunity tonight because that goal by Billings, under the circumstances, was SPECIAL and may just be a defining moment for the rest of the season.

Disappointing last 8 mins but coming off a 5 day break and a few rotations down we had done enough by half time to have the game won.

Jones to replace Hannebury - hopefully everyone else gets up

Now rest up fellas - 7 days to the Cats who will be coming off a 5 dayer

Hopefully the Gold Coast give them a tough time

We don't need to burden ourselves with a one-dimensional Ryder.

Ryder stifles Marshalls development and his confidence IMO

Yep, Marshall is a number 1 ruckman and needs to play there. No offence to Ryder, but he should only be a back up this season.

Poor old Eddie, Father Time catches up with everyone. I think there was a lack of professionalism with Carlton picking him up - got to be ruthless, no room for sentiment in this game.

It’s the same problem though isn’t it.

Marshall got tired in that 3/4 and that coincided with Carlton dominating play.

He came out breathing fire in the 4th and we buried the match... led by Marshall.

How do we structure to give this guy some help?

He actually tucked quite well in the last too.

His ruckwork up until 3/4 was ordinary.

I don't think we can rely on Battle to support him.

A conundrum!

Can we also give some props to Carlisle for a great bump in the third! Looked fair, hopefully he doesn’t get in trouble 🤞

half way in the 2nd Q the game changed.....would have liked to have seen the boys continue the onslaught but credit to the coach for keeping it together for a win.

It’s hard because there’s no argument that Marshall plays better when he’s the primary ruck and the last 2 weeks have been his better games of the season to date...
But, he can’t ruck by himself for 4 quarters. He fades and the opposition gets on top.

I don’t know what the solution is

He didn't win the ruck necessarily, but had 7 Clearances. The Carlton kid is no good, so it's a worry that he couldn't put him away.

Had 19 touches - but only 3 marks.

As I said in another thread, he's almost a mid as opposed to a ruckman.

Yes but at least good for picking up more memberships.
Pretty sure he's not as gone as Hannabery and costs lot less too!
