Never played the game but when at the park son once asked why I never miss 30/40 out. Simple. Kicking mechanics was stolen from Plugger. Exactly the same. Head over. Low ball drop. Left arm out. Swing straight. Follow through.
Beggars belief why every forward is not mimicking Plugger's perfect action.

Definitely technical flaws. Mark Williams would be all over it (apparently he runs a kicking school and has done so at each club he’s coached)

He needs a routine that he’s comfortable with and one that works 8 or 9 times out of ten. He’s got to simulate match day and kick over someone manning the mark. Also do it after training so you are slightly fatigued.

If he just follows a process he’ll be fine. And DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE RESULT. Just follow your routine
Agreed. The only problem is that Mark Williams now works at Melbourne doing exactly that. Elite skill development - particularly kicking.
