I hope his body holds up & he continues for another year at least.
That said, is there an opportunity as Collingwood's carcass rots that they will try to release themselves from Grundy's contract in the next year or two?
If that's the case then surely we've learnt from Hannebery's recruitment and the Dog's recruitment of Treloar to make a serious play for him that may be subsidised and not cost us ridiculous trades.
Who knows. He’s playing as well as ever and looks very fit. Still has a prodigious leap. Barring bad injury - which admittedly you cannot rule out - I don’t see why he can’t go around again.
What a terrific player he is. Wish he’d played his entire career at St Kilda.

I loved him when he was at Essendon and wished we’d been able to draft him
Was very unenthused when we got him...
What a fool I was
Same boat.
Always thought he was a gun, but believed we picked up a player topping up his super.
I was flabbergasted by his passion to play last year. Paddy showed more passion in the emination final last year than most players that have pulled on the red white and black.
So happy to be wrong. Paddy has at least another season if his body holds up.
As long as he has his leap and mobility he's very valuable. Hoping he goes on next year - he hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. Probably our most important player right now

Against the Hawks, he made McEvoy look like a stepladder.
You'd be excused for thinking Paddy had the premiership medallions, not the other way around
2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn
Look folks, as far as the old Jiggster's concerned, any games we get out of Paddy are a bonus at this stage of his career. He gave us 110% last year, and appears to be in a good place mentally at present. I just hope against hope, that Paddy will ENJOY his footy this season, his addition to the side has a definite positive effect. I say: Let the guy have his space and the form will take care of itself! GREAT to see him with a big smile on his face! Long may it continue!!!!

I am pretty sure that if Paddy and the others were available in that final against the Tigers, then the Tigers would not have been premiers.
Yesterday at the excellent pre-match function organised by those fantastic Gold Coast Saints supporters, Murray and Bev Browne, Simon Lethlean was there to represent the club, and in response to a direct question about St Kilda's ruck stocks apropos Paddy Ryder's age stated categorically that the club would definitely hope he plays another season.
He also said the club intended to draft another ruck prospect either next month or in the NAB draft at end of year.
Given Paddy's game yesterday where he kicked a crucial last quarter goal to put the Mighty Saints in front I most certainly hope he stays on.
