IMHO the 2 expansion teams spread the talent too thin and rooted struggling teams getting decent draft picks same will happen again.
Spot on Wally. As much as NotVerySunnyErnie was being his usual mischievous self with his $100M post - the simple fact is that it wasn't too far off what the AFL offered North to become the Gold Coast Kangaroos. And honestly - if they'd only spent $100M they'd - they'd be $250M better off by now. What a f#$king money pit GCS is.

The increased list size, extra salary cap stuff etc will never happen again - the existing clubs have seen how it so distorted the comp for so long that it won't happen. Especially those clubs that were rebuilding around 2011-2015 (aka St KIlda).

This vote in August is going to be very interesting. The AFL wants a unanimous outcome; pretty sure there's a few wealthy clubs such as Ess & Coll who've already indicated they're not voting for anything they don't see fully costed.

I haven't been to Tassie for a long time but Bellerive Oval looks fantastic.
What happened to North Hobart Oval? We played there against Fitzroy a couple of times and in the 90s it used to host matches.
I remember our full forward got himself into trouble in a pub once after a match down there too.

Not interested in following a Kangaroos team in TAS

Will support a new Tassie team

And that’s the feelings of a couple of hundred thousand Tasmanians

Well they either have North or nothing. Simple as that.

St Kilda should be playing 2 home games in Tassie and ANZAC day in New Zealand. If we do that then our debt will be gone in no time

Why? We should never have given up on Tassie. It has cost us millions of dollars.

North Hobart Oval is still there and used regularly in the local comp. It's a delightfully old-fashioned suburban footy ground, but doesn't hold the sorts of crowds that the AFL hopes to attract to its games these days.

Hobart is the sort of place that many visiting blokes get themselves into various forms of trouble. The young women are generally thought to be quite accommodating. But, if you try to chat up one who is already spoken for, the young blokes are quick to rise to the occasion. And often they don't fight fair: think of Chopper.
