I'm intrigued to find out saynta on what basis you felt at the start of the year that it was obvious St Kilda would play finals, I was not at all certain of that, bearing in mind the 3-8 record after the mid season bye.

Was it the fact that Lyon became the new coach??

Nor did I believe finals as a probability later when in round 18 they got done by the Gold Coast Suns, a game that St Kilda were strongly favoured to win - they just weren't playing good footy.

I knew we would play finals when Guthrie kicked Into the back of Neale and Butler goaled. Oh how we sang.

Our talented kids and recent good recruiting needs to be acknowledged. The recent recruiting happened prior to our new coaches taking over the reins, and there's no guarantee that this will continue ... let's hope it does.

And Stocker should be played ... you need skilled, hard-bodied players in finals. Our recruiters got him right too.
