He did go off with a head bump in the third - didn't stay off too long that I noticed.gO.SainTs wrote:Good on him, he is a champ Was a very exciting match to watch, but I have something to ask. I missed it but my dad told me that a player accidently elbowed his head and splitting it open. True?
Came back and won the match.

Ah Les - Pound for pound the most accurate poster on this site!!my les foote wrote:Pound for pound?
What doe that mean?
He's not a boxer.
He plays as a forward because that's what suit him and the team.
Is he as good a forward as Riewoldt? No.
Is he as good a midfielder as Harvs? No.
He's a good footballer, well done to play 300 but he ain't no superstar.

He's a better forward than Harvey, and a better midfielder than Roo. That's why he's so good; he can do both, and well. And he is a genuine superstar.my les foote wrote:Pound for pound?

I would have thought pound for pound was using a bit of Aussie licence for a bloke who does things a little bit out of the ordinary - almost fighting out of his weight division sometimes, as Johnno has done for some time.
He's been used here, there and everywhere, and has been a sensation.
He is actually a superstar - for those that don't get to too many Dogs games, the atmosphere lifts a notch when he goes near the ball, the crowd expect something and most times he delivers and does it well.
And superstar doesn't just translate to on-field.
He hasn't tweaked a girls breasts and de-meaned her outside the Tunnel.
He hasn't peed on a nightclub window.
He hasn't glassed anyone, nor taken e's or coke to my knowledge, and I do know a fair few people associated with the Dogs.
He has done a lot of community work for the western suburbs.
He leads on field by yelling and barking orders.
Apparently that's a common thing when you're a leader.
Yes he fights out of his division. And he carries it well.
Brad Johnson to WB is like us asking Harves to hold down FB or CHB at times.
He's a true utility, and a flowering good bloke.

Eagerly awaiting st paddy's personal AFL record.... clearly has played a ka-zillion games and has first hand knowledge of what "a smiling pr1ck" Johnno is.st paddy wrote:Ah Les - Pound for pound the most accurate poster on this site!!my les foote wrote:Pound for pound?

He's probably a better Centre Half Back than Leigh Montagna but he plays as a permanent forward and that's all he can be judged on.St DAC wrote:

Win it for HIM!
Probably played most of his career as a mid beautifully then moved forward and just as good.my les foote wrote:He's probably a better Centre Half Back than Leigh Montagna but he plays as a permanent forward and that's all he can be judged on.St DAC wrote:

It was a congratulatory thread anyway, stating what a legend he was. Til it was hi-jacked by d1ckheads wanting to bag a champion.
Go to the Dogs site and start a "Let's bag Johnno" thread and take st paddy with you.
Sorry mate, I missed how many games you played..... what was it again?

Thought the thread title would have given it away.my les foote wrote:I don't rate a Footscray player. No need for personal abuse.
Congratulatory thread. THanks Mr. thread monitor.
I'll start a congratulatory thread on Fiora or Blake and see how long that lasts. I'm sure you'll come to their defence.
No need for personal abuse? Why, when you come on here and bag a champion?
I'm tipping you and paddy haven't seen Johnno play live, or seen him much on TV cos he's from the west - or "Footscray".
I'm tipping you guys haven't much knowledge of him as a bloke, except on TV you think he's a "smiling pr1ck".
Fact is, you know nothing about the bloke who has played 300 games and is a genuine champ.
Not a thread monitor but I do appreciate extremely good footballers.
Anyway good on you Johnno from me and many Saints and football fans who do appreciate how great you are.

I'm tipping you and paddy haven't seen Johnno play live, or seen him much on TV cos he's from the west - or "Footscray". Your tipping is about as good as your comprehension
I'm tipping you guys haven't much knowledge of him as a bloke, except on TV you think he's a "smiling pr1ck". About as relevant as my playing career
Fact is, you know nothing about the bloke who has played 300 games and is a genuine champ.

Anyway good on you Johnno from me and many Saints and football fans (I already said this) who do appreciate how great you are.
Win it for HIM!
And stick by thatmy les foote wrote:Iceman234 wrote:

Your tipping is about as good as your comprehension No my tipping is good - good enough to win the Saintsational footy tipping on footytips.com.au last year. But on a serious note, when was the last time you went to a Dogs game and saw him live?
I'm tipping you guys haven't much knowledge of him as a bloke, except on TV you think he's a "smiling pr1ck". About as relevant as my playing career Again apologies about your playing career. Johnno's is much better "
