Still dosn't know what to do with it when he gets it.

Im positive coaches uses him tactically to turnover the ball by letting him run loose.
thats Jones your thinking of.

blake is a bit slow when he stops to think but he's ok when he plays on quickly or passes of quickly.

tbh he's better underpressure than when he has heaps of time. he's also quite good when he focus's on getting the ball, he's a good spoil, and a fair mark, and when he hoofs it, its not bad, its just when he stops to think about it. A bit like goddard was 2 or 3 seasons ago.

He's not stupid, i just think he spends too long thinking of the best option instead of going for the first option.

when he gets rid of it quickly, he usually hits his target.
One question: Do you feel confident when the ball is in Blake's hands?

much much more confident that when the ball is in CJ's hands or birss for that matter.

IMO it would be great if our team didn't need blake in the side, but IMO the players to replace him are birss, maguire and goddard.

tbh i think we went in a bit too tall this game, and kosi just didn't have a spot. but a 40 point win suggest the coaching staff and selection panel got it right.

the reality is, CJ is worse, birss is as bad, goddard and goose are coming back from injury, and the other players are either not quite ready or not quite in form, or not quite as good.

compare blake to the no.22 player in other teams and he compares very very well.

Yeah, fair point. That is a good perspective to look at it from.

Blake played well last night. I'd have him in my 22. His footskills have improved dramatically, that little chip pass he did was great too.

This is hilarious.
Blake has certain positive attributes.
If you add decision making & clinical ball skills then he becomes Adam Goodes.
And then we can't afford him under the salary cap.
And so we would have Joe Bloggs his not particulary skilled replacement getting slagged every week.

The point of list management under a salary cap is to get best value for the money you pay to players. In these terms Blake is more likely to play to 100% of his cost than quite a few players who are venerated on this forum.

Work it out. And give it a rest.

yeah i always found it annoying when fans got stuck into schwarz for getting a bath from chris tarrant.

ther reality was schwarz was on a 100k p/a and he was st kilda's 20 to 28th best player and at the time tarrant was in collingwoods top 5 and on close to 400k.

sadly given injuries at the time schwarta got the job because there was noone better :(

same with blake, sadly guys like gwilt and mini who looked good 3 years ago, don't seem to be coming on :(
