Raph up fwd. can't compound problems can it?

Post: # 557861Post Megamaguire »

Up front we look a bit too predictable as Roo finds out week after week when he is double teamed and oppositions feel they can handle the rest of our forward line. A medium sized marking - running forward would be great to see. Geary may still offer us the hope of a more multi-faceted forward structure and maybe Raph could deliver more than might be expected away from defence.

It's possible that Raph has learned a lot in his maligned time down back and if he can use his experiences down back to help him exert himself on the forward line it'll be a timely development for us all no doubt.
He doesn't strike me as hard enough to be a serious contender in a backline 6. However on a forward flank he should at least have a better understanding of opposition defenders now.

Recently Saint Kilda have made a nasty habit of squandering riches up front. Our experienced Kickers for goal - Milne; Roo and even Kosi appear to be concentrating weakly when thinking through their kicking action. This must be addressed!
Of Coarse it's depressing and the club might be well advised to get an experienced forward specialiist who can compliment Rossi.

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Apparently played well up forward, could be a option for improved attack.
hes tall and a good mark. needs to be tried up forward for sure.
he cant play back. weve learnt that. we should trade kosi for a high draft pick or a mid fielder.
cant believe that no one actually commented on that.

are u kidding me??? :o

Id try Raph up fwd.

My only concern - can he/does he offer anything DEFENSIVELY as a fwd?

Cause rebound footy is killing us right now.

At least now with asome time in defence he knows what "body pressure" is expected in effecting a spoil but on the whole as someone said we could really use a rangy, additional target up fwd.

a few of those double fisted spoils would work well for Milne and Schneider....

He played a good game last weekend did he. Well that was one more than Matt Maguire had before he returned to the Seniors. Matt is still a long way off and would be better off following Raphs example and getting form in the Reserves.
