Sheesh..everybody wants it in their own backyard 8-)

Maybe they couldnt have it at Sandy cos they wanna play a practice match there on that day...who knows??

Belvedere Park has no infrastructure at the moment so the logisitics of having it there would be prohibitive

Moorabbins a demolition site

So.....that leaves...Frankston...still part of our catchment area for fans and perfectly accessible by public transport

What is it with Melburnians?

If they have to drive more then 15 minutes somewhere is too far away...

things must be on your doorstep all the time

As snoops said, it's not far for people living near Frankston to travel in every week and watch their side, but melbournians can't make one trip to frankston for the family day because it's "too far".

Who are these Melbournians?

From what you're saying Frankston isn't part of Melbourne but any other suburb is.

I have volunteered to help out on Family Day and contacted Danielle Heyman Events Manager St Kilda Football Club.

She thanked me and said she would love help.

If anyone else is interested in helping the Club email Danielle at

Actually I remeber the years we hired out Luna Park, now they were great family days, and it was in St.Kilda, easily accessibloe to all and plenty of fun.

Who was the Prez?

Was it pre-RB, ie the Plympton days?

I reckon B4E might back you on this one, and might even throw in "Elsternwick Park" and an 8,000 word essay!

I wonder how much that would have cost the club. Plus how do they decide who comes in did you have to either already have a membership or buy one before going in?

It takes me a good hour to get to training at the moment, but if you make something of the afternoon it's really no big deal. If I can make it down there, it goes something like this...

2.00pm Watch the boys train
4.30pm Head to Mentone and get the best dim sims in Melb
5.30pm Eat takeaway chinese by the beach
6.30pm Head home after a good afternoon

Sure Frankston will be a bit further on the Eastlink, but I am sure I can come up with a new schedule and make something of it...

Would they be the Tai Wah Dim Sims tha you can buy uncooked and take home for steaming later?

We have always gone to Tai Wah - when we lived in Parkdale, South Oakleigh, Camberwell, Bentleigh, and now Skye.

The trip is always worth it!
