Tim Watson as a player was strong
But as our Coach he did everything wrong
In two years F##ked our Club
And dumped my boy Nicky the grub
Now your back to commentating where you belong

The big bad man could kick a drop punt
But when angry would target a runt
Then the sainter named Hall
As a swan kicked the ball
and now we all think he's a ...

In the Seventies down at Moorabbin
A bright eyed yound lad threw his hat in
To the Animal Enclosure
where he learnt from exposure
To bleed red, white and black lose or win.

The forum would attract all types
To share their brick bats and snipes
Even 11 on the trot
didn't really change the plot
There are still plenty who harbour big gripes

Some see the glamour club now as fugly
Our opponents hog the limelight so smugly
But against Swans Delta, Nicole & Elle
And Blues Livvy & Megan Gale
Thank Heaven’s Dee Dee and Sam Stosur still have Molly

Gram cops it because he's not tough
Even 10 inside 50s aint enough
Unless every kick is his best
Hitting Roo on the Chest
31 touches
And they still don't give a stuff

The Hawthorn supporters weren't pissed
When poor Zac was dropped from the list
Now with the Saints in '09
He's been playing just fine
Not a single game has he missed

There was an old woman from China
With a big smelly hairy...

Can I borrow your rhyimng book? 8-)

When ever the Saints need a fix
We come here to put idea's into the mix
Then on comes some clown
To put our ideas down
His name _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Wake me up when September ends.

Have all been amazing down back

As have Kosi and Roo in attack

Plentiful of premiership cups we aint

Beating the blue beggars again and again

There is a Saints skipper called Roo,
On the field there isn't much he could'nt do
He can take a great spekky
Eat backman for brekky
However his kicking is slightly askew

'Sir Robert' we called him it's true
For he was Red, White & Black through & through
We treated him like royalty
But, so much for loyaty
For now he prefers Navy Blue

My farther said, "follow the saints its holy"
week in week out and truly,
wear you red white and black,
and never look back,
Be a real believer, the saints are coming.

So i followed dads gospel, i heard him,
win lose or draw i cheered them,
i vowed to smile each goal,
and despise the pie world,
im a believer the saints are coming.

im REALLY REALLY sorry if this not written the correct way... i tried!!

fantastic idea btw!

No worries that's the shot though, you're having a go and your almost there
The ideas great , we just gotta tweak it a bit to get the rhyming pattern correct

Now here's a bit of info on lymerics that may help anyone else whose not too sure how to go about it....

A limerick is a five-line poem with a strict form (AABBA), which intends to be witty or humorous, and is sometimes obscene (But not on here or we will all cop it! ) with humorous intent.
The following example of a limerick is of anonymous origin.....

The limerick packs laughs anatomical
In space that is quite economical,
But the good ones I've seen
So seldom are clean,
And the clean ones so seldom are comical.

So the key to it is this (AABBA) bit
which isn’t a pop group but the rhyming pattern
Eg lines 1,2& 5 all rhyme (A’s …… anatomical, economical & comical)
And lines 3& 4 are a different rhyme (B …. Seen & clean )

So lets have a bit of a "tweak"...

My father said, "follow the saints its holy,
week in and week out, but solely.
wear you red white and black,
and never look back,
and believe the saints are coming goal by goal-ly

So i followed dads gospel, i heard him,
win lose or draw i cheered 'em,
i vowed to smile at each goal,
and despise the pies with my soul,
And believe now the saints sure are a-comin'!!

hope I haven't butchered it too much , but its starting to get near to it!

Like the Saints it's a work in progress so have a bit more of a play around with it, in fact someone here whose a bit more of a bard than me , might have a go at it for you as well

In the sand old Ross drew the "line"
He said "Trust me boys, we'll be fine"
Just be quick in attack
And then get numbers back
And we'll win the flag in '09

During last year's rookie draft zoo
At pick 71 Saints fans said 'Who?'
Out of left field
Saints recruiting did yield
A young speedster we call Choo Choo

We once had a player No 6
Snapping Goals that became party tricks
But as he got older
Kept dislocating his shoulder
Another loss to Sydney those dumb pricks

With an ego so over inflated
Training services, he over rated
Yet the injuries we had
Surely cost us a flag
Yet some cabbages want him reinstated
