From looking at last years threads, this was roughly the outcome,

93% registered meaning that 10,695 are being sought by Social Club

85% of 11,500 seats = 9,775

Therfeore 920 standing room tickets will be allocated to SC Members.

This represents an 8.6% chance of getting a standing room ticket.

Assuming we still get 11,500 and assuming it is 85% seats, then nothing has changed....other than what is the take up rate.

Mordi,
mostly agree, except that with the "all or nothing" policy there would have been quite a few large groups of SC members who didn't get seats because if say they were a block of 8, then towards the end of the process the computer would no longer be able to find a block of 8 tickets together so they (all 8) would be offered standing.
Hence less than 9775 SC members would have got seats.
That explains why a few single seats slipped through to September Saints.

The wild cards this year are
- will the take-up rate remain at an incredibly high 93%?
I doubt it, which is good news in terms of those who apply getting seats and good news for Sept Saints who have a better chance of picking up the leftovers.
- will the AFL give us 9775 seats again or will they go for the dollars and cut back our allocation (more standing) so they can flog them off.
I wouldn't put it past them, particularly as they haven't yet advised the clubs on this.

Hi everyone - this is exciting but stressful. Last year we went for option 2 and got seats. We were hoping to do the same thing - we don't want to stand but are scared of taking the risk. Are there any forumites who missed out altogether last year as a result of selecting option 2?

You need to say to yourself, is standing better than missing out all together.

As Plugga said it is pretty simple.

Option 2 does not alter in any way your chances of getting a seat or not.

if you are drawn out and all seats are gone you will be:
* given a standing room ticket if you have gone for Option 1.
* or if you have gone for Option 2, that they will ignore you and draw out the next member or Sept Saint who will be offered a Standing Room ticket.

Yeah I understand all that but I was just wondering if anyone missed out last year as a result of selecting option 2.

Well you would imagine taht it would have to be yes...

Also remember that last year as there was a lot of confusion with many people going for Option 2 thinking that it guaranteed them a seat when it did not, that the Club allowed people a second chance.

That will not happen this year.

Yes I know someone who missed out, long standing social club member and volunteer with the club, this person had a hip replacement op and is on a stick, so not a wheelchair option, she completely missed out.
They ended up having to purchase corporate tickets very annoying considering there were some September Saints got seating, yes they had booked in group of 8.
Last year I was lucky enough to get seats,as I had a medical condition then, this year in good health and I along with the kids have selected seats and standing,I just want to be there and not the stress that we will miss out.

Hey I have a question about the registration. I won't be able to attend the GF if we make it this year so I said my Dad could have my SC membership.

Can he register for the ticket with my barcose or does he need me to do it and then give him the ticket?

Computers are dumb...so they will not know who is typing in the barcode.

Anyone can do it.

According to the club September Saints have a 10-15% chance of getting tickets.

Thanks. I was pretty sure it would let him do it. He has my membership (I gave it to him after the Richmond game) so he has everything he needs. I'll let him know.

I emailed the club...But they made a mistake somewhere along the line because the bloke said there are only 1,000 September Saints.

So, if they take up rate of SC members was 90%:

11,500 * .10 = 1,150 tickets left for September Saints.

I guess he meant that there are 10,000 September Saints rather than 1,000.

There may be 1000 september saints, i know a lot of stkilda members who didn't take up the offer, either by not wanting to go through the agony again or who didn't organize it in time. what do people think, 10,000 or 1,000?

I'd possibly think the 1,000 would be correct for September Saints- to me no way would they have 10,000 on that list- that could leave 9,000 dissappointed.

10 % roughly of 11,500 don't take up their S/C Final allocation
leaving about 1,000 spots.....

it was not as widely offered this year but follow up of last years September saints to a level that they can cover with possible tickets...

Which email was that in Gill, i couldn't find it. I'd be pretty suprised if we only had a 1 in 10 chance of getting a ticket, but would also be suprised if there was 1000 september saints and 1,000 tickets left after SC uptake.
All we can do is register and hope we are lucky :)
