International Hybrid game is crap.

I have no interest whatsoever. And the antics of Fev on the last rip just shows how serious players treat it.

Nothing like a working holiday. the Irish flogs treat it more seriously.

Personally I just hope no player from any club gets injured.

Get rid of this tripe...PLEASE!!!

It was my first meeting with those guys and we've bonded over the flight. I've also been getting along with Sam Gilbert and Leigh Montagna - there's been some good yarns already and we're only two days in.

Do the players nominate themselves or are they just selected with no prior consulatation?
apparently the selectors sent out letters to about 100 players around the middle of the year to get expressions of interest... and then worked from those who did...

That youtube clip illustrates it all perfectly.

The Paddies go into these things to incite bloody World War 3 by sniping like bastards with sneaky knees and elbows then squeal like stove top kettles when lo and behold the significantly larger Australians bite back.

Johnson coat hangered a bloke then whacked people who chose to remonstrate. His coat hanger was crude, but really, the rest was hardly in the realm of 'isolated acts of thuggery'.

On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

The Irish really should just stick to drinking and making beer and whiskey.

those odds are silly - what the heck is 8/13 and 6/5 mean?

Fractions are old skool.

How about $1.20 and $1.35 instead so we can understand the odds!!!

Game preview from the Irish side
http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/spo ... 25098.html
There are conversely, positives for Anthony Tohill’s side. Available this time is the experienced Tadhg Kennelly, Tommy Walsh, who the management two years ago were very frustrated to lose to club commitments after he had shown very well in the trials, and Martin Clarke, who flared brightly in the AFL with Australian coach Mick Malthouse’s Collingwood.

There is also the reassurance of some of the best players from 2008 still being around. The perennial Graham Canty, three times the GAA player of the series, whose defensive acumen and movement has been an anchor for Ireland down the years, has recovered from the injury that interfered with Cork’s championship-winning campaign.

Hopefully Gilbert will hold his marks better than he is in this game if he plays forward for us next year.
He has dropped quite a few relatively simple marks
