Spot on.Dr Spaceman wrote:Well Eade, Ayres and the like have also been "overlooked" otherwise they'd be coaching in the AFL now.BigMart wrote:Im sure most clubs are after a person with the attributes to make a GOOD senior coach.....

The problem we have is that we have a senior core who are going to be very hard to be won over by a young coach. That, IMO, is harves big advantage if they went that way. Can he coach? Of course. Can he coach well? Who knows. Can he adapt And change game styles to challenge the best ? Ross was good for plan A but you would have to admit that there was no plan b other than run away and apparently he is one of the best coaches going around

Nice to see we are playing sheep again.....Only this time getting the next best...
Young coach, on a hiding to nothing at the saints......i wish him luck
"Remember back in late 2004, Hawthorn took their time before arriving at the decision to appoint Clarkson as Coach. In the interim, both Terry Wallace and Rodney Eade criticized the Hawthorn club for not acting quickly enough to appoint them. All I can say is .... phew!!!!!!!!!!!"
To refresh your memory of Clarkson's appointment:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2004-09-08/h ... ch/2040314
"He was selected after the Hawks missed out on preferred candidates Rodney Eade (Western Bulldogs) and Terry Wallace (Richmond)..."
Taking your time is not necessarily a bad thing.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

I suspect the process would cover multiple interviews. 1st Interview would be for just about anyone who has shown an interest. 2nd Interview would be after they sort the wheat from the chaff. 3rd Interview would be for the final 3-4 candidates !!saintlee wrote:Doesn't make sense if they haven't interviewed Eade yet....so they're either going through the motions in interviewing Eade, or Micheal Roberts is speculating...I suspect its the latter
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Well a poster on the BF Saints board said he was at a GF luncheon today and Eade said he was being interviewed for the job, and the process starts next weekSaintWal wrote:Michael Roberts at golf day advised that the saints are down to three candidates and that they are all "young"

Pretty good experience and has a few things in common with our players.
Might even share the same hunger as them in some regards.
But I also don't want us to fall for the old trick of hiring an assistant from whoever won last years flag. We should take a deep breath and see how they all prsent.
On another note.
Middo love your avatar. The ledge is already my favourite player.

So your not happy with coaches that have been overlooked.... But more than happy with someone that had been sacked or as you call 'experienced' at the highest level.
These people arnt coaching anymore because their employer sacked them.

They also have in common that they appear to have had a bit more success than Eade and AyresBigMart wrote:Every coach gets sacked
Allen Jeans, Tom Hafey, dennis pagan, david parkin, kevin sheedy, mark williams, leigh matthews
What do they all have in common
1. They are legend coaches
2. They were all sacked by a club or two
