Total gluttons. They are as bad as the Filth to deal with.

I really hope we get a chance to screw them over in a future trade period.

Yes fancy keeping a player who is under contract.
But they have ABSOLUTELY NO USE for him. Why would they want to hold on to him? They are just so stubborn.

How do you know that? Has the season been played and they got through without injury, suspension or poor form? We chased a contracted player. very risky.

I think if you think about how difficult it was this year when Ben and Stanley were both injured, you have your answer....Glass is no spring chicken.

We'll find one. Scott Watters won't play another season without one.

The Weagles did us a favour.
Hopefully we will concentrate on improving our midfield now (with p.25 and 26) and let our strong forward line do the rest. ,, we just need more inside F50's from our midfielders.

It would be difficult to fathom that he isn't doing his utmost to rectify the situation.

In Watters we trust!

I guess this puts it more into perspective. Good point.

Okay, I'm over Brown. Time to move on 8-)

I think its perfect to draft some key backs in this years draft. Kids will learn quickly with maxy hudghton as a part-time coach.

agreed, time for some draft magic
cudos to samohts' optimism, but the backline leaked like a sieve due to the 2012 onballers defensive cover, the ball went screaming down back and that makes the fullback position vital.

I don't understand why WE didn't go for a Gilham or a Hooker instead of relying on WC to pick up Hooker for a 3-way?

Because Gilham is an older, injury prone version of Simpkin and Hooker isn't much good.

Seriously, Hartigan made the VFL rep squad as a 20 year old full back. He will be bigger bodied after another pre-season. He will play next year as a 21 year old. That is tracking well for a KPD. Taller than Darren Glass.

Grab him with pick 44. Give him a chance. Cannot hurt.

well.. Tighe did not make state squads... but sure, have a close look at both of them.... both young.... KPDs... I would have no problem getting both on our list, one as a rookie.. I dont know the chances of other clubs grabbing them, but weigh that up....

Agreed. Fancy giving up 25 and 26 for 16 then 16 and Cripps for Brown?

Would have made us look stupid and desperate.

Now we keep 25 and 26 use them on whatever the club thinks it needs, and use a later pick on a WAFL SANFL or VFL fullback. Give them a 2 year contract and then go after Brown in 2013 for a much cheaper cost.

We have got a fair backline. Two AA's in Dempster and Fisher, Jimmy Gwilt, and Sam Gilbert. Tommy Simpkin is coming along nicely. We are short a big bodied Fullback but a Hartigan may be able to fill the breach for a season.

We just have to look at alternatives.

Lance or James??

What about Newnes?

With a preseason he may be another regular down back in 2013.

Surely with Blake staying on and seemingly going to get that FB possie with support from an improved Simpkin and Gwilt, and with BJ gone and cap space, we'll target a big(ish) fix next year, either as a FA or out of contract trade...

When is Frawley's contract up?... Maybe we all went 1 year too early...!!

And maybe he has no interest at all in coming to us. It was a made up rumour and no all of a sudden he may want to leave Melbourne. Think he has 2 years to go anyway.

Just putting a little perspective on it - Zac D was a rookie elevation aftere being delisted. You don't need Brownlow medalists to play this position and I'd be pretty confident there will be good options available. As someone has already said we have 2 AA back men and some pretty handy defenders already. Very pleased we have 25 & 26.

Yes fancy keeping a player who is under contract.
But they have ABSOLUTELY NO USE for him. Why would they want to hold on to him? They are just so stubborn.
... ignore him mate...

....think they all agreed to trade him in the end...according to our coach the deal fell through because of hooper not wanting to go west
