I think Coopergrech has just about nailed it.
So you did!
I was wondering why I hadn't seen it recently.
(and a fine photo of Verdun Howell you have now too!)

Anyway, I say McCartin looks like a modern day Mocca Morrow, and should have no. 8

If he plays anything like Plugger Lockett he can have no. 4

I reckon McCartin #40.
Goddard #38.

All new players should fill the available numbers as they are drafted so....

4 - McCartin
8 - Goddard
28 - McKenzie
32 - Lonie
33 - Sinclair
36 - Saad
37 - Payne

Unless other players who showed something last season want to move up in the pecking order:

e.g. Shenton 39 to 28, Weller 44 to 33. Acres, Minchington and Templeton haven't shown enough yet to warrant a number promotion, but the former and latter will definitely be good players down the track, while the jury is still out on Minchington, due to fitness.

Given that McKenzie and Lonie have already been given provisional lockers 32 and 33 respectively, it seems likely that these will be theirs to keep and McCartin and Goddard seem likely to be given low numbers as future club bookends, so who gets 28? Maybe Saad can make this number his own now.

I don't know why I wrote higher. I meant lower, of course.

Thanks - good on you for not starting a new thread.

Not surprised Weller wanted to retain 44.

Hold your ground
