I played junior footy with his brother, jack would train with us, run our on game day and always be around us. Always loved his footy and great to see him in our colours. Off to a very nice start to his career

Thommo was 180cm, Lonie is 174cm. More than two inches difference. I wouldn't mind an extra two inches.

Players Lonie's height or shorter who've played 100 for the Saints in the modern era:

Bruce Duperouzel: 174cm, 139 games from 1974-1982
Ian Rowland: 173cm, 109 games from 1960-1966
Ross Smith: 173cm, 234 games from 1961-1975
Paul Callery: 165cm, 105 games from 1974-1980

Taller than him are guys like Schneider, Tony Brown, Aussie Jones, Milney, Jeff Dunne, Sziller, Wels Eicke, Stuart Trott and Joey.

He's the same height as Jarryd Blair at Collingwood, which is to say shorter than Ben Kennedy, Josh Thomas and Jamie Elliott who are all very small for a modern footballer.

Yes, he is taller than Caleb Daniel and Brent Harvey by two or three inches. But that's about the only comparison.

He's really short. He's got a lot of work to do. But he's started well!

Lonie will be a player. There are certain things you see in guys and he has what it needs to play the game.

Agree, he has it ....what ever that is. He seems like a happy little guy who wouldn't hurt a fly off field but he has a bit of viscous on field. I really wanted Caleb Daniel and was disappointed by getting Lonie instead...I was very very wrong. Will be a very good recruit.
