Coghlan can play at both ends. We also have seen that membrey and Bruce can survive as a 1-2 punch. I think its time to say thanks for your services to ol tommy.

I don't know who is on the block for the chop this year, but I expect that from next year as we are picking up much better players, it will be far more of a difficult job to do...aside from retirements (or not) of course. We don't have the list cloggers of past years atm

So is it also "time" for Riewoldt and Montagna?

Simply the responsibility is to put your best side on the park, seeking to win every game.

It is a performance industry.

If Fisher remains good enough, as he was in 2016 even allowing for injury, that is the assessment.

Most good players retire while still in the best 22, Montagna & Riewoldt will be no different.

It will be an interesting year for Minch, Sinclair & Lonie… (& templeton if stays on the list)

With Billings & Gresham clearly first choice for small forward roles, we can't carry so many of the same type on the list. Probably at least 2 will have to go.

I still think one or two will be traded out, if and only if, the right deal/s can be done!!!!!

Billings, Longer or Hickey, if they can attract another first rnd pick only!!!!!

We will be great again once Billy is back playing!!!!!

My guess...

Senior List Outs : Curren, Delaney, Lee, Fisher, Murdoch, Shenton (6)
Rookie List Outs : Saunders, Payne, Holmes (3)

Senior List Ins : Steele, Brown, Stevens, Holmes, Pick 23, Pick 36 (6)
Rookie List Ins : Shenton, Rookie List Pick 10, Rookie List Pick 28 (3)

Don't we already have the two Irish rookies coming in? Or do they take up spots on a separate list?

One of them on a special list, the other on the rookie list.

Agree,it's time for Sam.

It's not so much his age that concerns me......... it's those fragile hammies that keep pinging that's a worry for Sam, sadly I think the hard call needs to be made.

I think you nailed it. Maybe Fisher instead of Shenton on the rookie
It's always a shame when players don't make it but I had high hopes for Murdoch

Can we delist the grandstanding poster who makes out that he is an ITK or connected to the ITK's but to date has proven he is nothing but a huge bag of wind who thinks the way to finish a sentence is by adding a bunch of !!!!!!!

Might be the only option, there were no takers for a trade.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

would be harsh to see him go. I am a little surprised another club hasnt requested a trade for him.
Shenton - Cult figure. Would be sad to see him go.
Lee - Well I was always a believer in him - but now I dont see the point unless he can get super fit and work on his rebounding.
Murdoch - It is a cut throat business but he probably should be delisted.
Holmes and Pierce - Both borderline.
Fisher - cant possibly see how he can stay now we have Brown and Carlisle. Club legend and should be treated with utmost respect. Happy if he is given a coaching role.
Have to agree with most of that except for the bit about Lee because I stopped believing 18 months ago. I agree with Saynta and can't see how it can take a guy 6-7 years to understand that he needs to be superfit to play the game at the highest level. Don't forget we are the second AFL club to be dissapointed by recruiting him. He was very very fortunate imo when we last gave him a contract.

So now that the trade period is finished, how many on our list do we need to delist?
We have picks 23, 36, 61 and 86 in the upcoming Draft.
I think somebody was saying we'll use pick 86 to upgrade Holmes onto the senior list?
Does that leave us with picks 23, 36, 61?

At present we need to delist 4 senior players to accommodate the three players we have traded in and three picks in the national draft. The three picks includes the one used to upgrade Holmes so if we want three picks (23,36,61) and Holmes we need to delist 5 players. -I think they will only use two picks plus Holmes.

IF we want to activate 3 picks 23, 36 and 61 then as he has a contract upgrade Holmes we need to delist a further 5 players.
IF we do not activate pick 61 then we need to delist a further 4 players.

It is a nasty place to be with the axe above your head knowing that if it falls on you, your AFL career is over and you have to go find a real job.

Only one of Irish rookies can be an international rookie type B = Darragh Joyce
The other must be rookie type A = Ray Connellan
We can only have 4 rookie type A.
We already have Nick Coughlan and Nick O'Kearney as rookie type A.
Jason Holmes was a rookie type A but he must now be upgraded permanently.
He will be because he already has a contract.
