What if the intense physical activity required to play AFL was the cause of his condition in the first place? How are they going to know for sure the cause if he is only allowed to do moderate exercise that it won't happen again when he exerts himself?

I guess the medical experts know what they are talking about.

This isn't a normal issue. We don't own Roberton. This is a private issue to a degree. The other thing is that the club may well not know much more. My mum)who has never drank or smoked) out of the blue had an elevated HR a couple of months ago. She's been on meds and the HR is now normal. After a million tests they still don't know what caused it
we don't require a running commentary on the guy's recovery.
His family needs the news, not us.
It's none of our business, really.
We will find out when the time is right.

Ahh Not sure how my post makes me a vampire?? Or that I advocated for a running commentary. In fact quite the opposite? Did you quote me by accident or not read what I wrote??

My limited knowledge suggests it will be a result of one of
1. problem with electric signals to the heart
2. problem with heart muscle
3. problem with blockage or hole in the heart

Someone with 1. which caused a delay in ventricle operation, a little device corrects the timing sequence.
Would not be surprised if he ends up with an automatic defibrillator inserted as a precaution.

Playing AFL football again good luck.

I guess when you’re an elite athlete you’ve got to be very risk adverse - any normal job and you’d be fine to work. Hopefully he uses this period to see if life as an assistant coach/analyst etc is something for him. The bloke will need something post footy with 3 kids already!

Good luck Robbo

Many clubs wouldn't even give us that much-- Good on the saints and Dylan
How would you know? It’s a rare occurance and Dylan didn’t get technical about it (nor should he - he’s not an expert).

I’m sure most clubs would’ve handled this in a similar fashion to us.
