I had an unusual vantage spot for that game. Because of the build up, my youngest , a daughter ( who was 14 at the time ) decided she wanted to go. I thus gave my reserved seat to one of my sons ( I think that was illegal , but I reckon I am ok under the Statute of Limitations ), and my daughter and I sat together in the GA area. Such was the clamour for tickets that we sat at the very top row of the top deck, on the Docklands side, half forward flank to the Lockett end . From that point we could hear - and feel- the waves of emotion rise up from below us , to reverberate from the closed roof just above us. It was the most extraordinary atmosphere for a home-and-away match.

I have seen Gardy’s mark so many times since .

Like others here I have never seen a replay of the 09 GF.
