his so called buzz..... was the change/transform 15 years ago.......SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Thu 19 Sep 2019 5:13pm Don't know about any of the other appointments made ( meaning some are proven average coaches, some are unproven).
But D Rath, he is 100% a serious grab! He came to Hawks in 2004 and has been credited widely with transforming their kicking, play style and efficiency for 12 years and just a few GF Cups!!
I am chuffed!!!!
Welcome back Sean Dempster

Re: Welcome back Sean Dempster
Says who?. He left Hawthorn 2 seasons ago after 13 years. He instilled training regimes that carried a core of A graders and their apprentices through 7 years of huge success. When he joined them in 04 they were ranked the worst kicking team in the league. 4 years later a flag. They had good players and a good coach but so did we. How did we fair? Other teams rose and then they came back again for a 3-peat.chook23 wrote: ↑Thu 19 Sep 2019 9:20pmhis so called buzz..... was the change/transform 15 years ago.......SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Thu 19 Sep 2019 5:13pm Don't know about any of the other appointments made ( meaning some are proven average coaches, some are unproven).

They still consistently beat better teams, who are higher on the ladder.
He was and still is a systems analysis man and now has elite coaching development under his wing. Look at the coaches that developed out of Hawthorn in his time. Hardly a coincidence. We have one of those coaches, we have one of the champions and we have the bloke behind the curtain. Only Clarkson himself would be a better choice.
Great get. Let's see what he can do before we pot him. God knows we need some change in our preparation and training, especially our kicking.

Very underrated, despite being an AA defender.
Smart coz as soon as he found the concussion caused him real issues, he retired.
Just think he will be good value.

Re: Welcome back Sean Dempster
Perhaps, but what is the number one gripe about St Kilda players in recent years?
Poor kicking skills, whether field or at goal.
And after kicking skills, it is the bomb into the forward line, which still gets back to kicking.
If the club can truly improve our kicking skills as a team it will make a large difference as we are clearly lacking in this compared to most, if not all of our opposition.
PS: Kicking will only be a part of what Rath will focus on.
