To be honest I doubt hill will come. Freo have gone way overs thinking we will meet them in the middle buy even a first round pick is too high with nothing coming back.
With all the players we are after someone will have to miss out and I think hill will be that player. It also seems like jack steven may not be let go either

My own knees are completely stuft, if only somebody would invent a 'meniscus silicone', it would solve a lot of problems.

Peter Bell is a short assed d**khead
They can stick it
a) Start spreading news that we will split the pick & see if he blinks
or
b) go to the draft with pick 6 - I love Dylan Stephens, all class, will be a gun

What this tells us is there will be nothing coming back when we give them pick 6.

The Hill trade is absolutely critical for our future credibility. What is the chance of quality nominating us in future if we can’t get the deal done.

I think pick 6 is even too much.

Don't be mistaken there would have been plenty of talk with his management on what we believe he is worth in regards to trading.
That would have been agreed on too.
If the job doesn't get done it will sit 100% on Fremantle and their inability to do whats right for their players (very much like us and Steven)
There is no doubt how this got out to the media so quickly.
We will not look silly (unless we cough up what they are asking for)

Is Clark or Coffield going to be as good as Brad Hill?

Who knows?

What we do know is Hill is a very good player who wants to come to us.

If it is #6 so be it, two first rounders - f-club off.

No it's not critical at all. All AFL List Managers and Player Managers know what everyone is worth. Pick 6 is either just about right, or a little bit over / under. But 2 x 1st rounders plus something else is completely mental and everyone knows it. Most of all the players and their managers. There's no way that talks and contract offers would've got this far had St K thought they were going to have to pony-up 2 x 1st rounders. This is an ambit claim by Freo off the back of WCE paying A LOT for Tim Kelly. Freo are just trying to extract the same price.

Peter Bell has made a massive rod for his own little back here. No Player Manager is going to entertain sending their players to Freo if this is how it's going to play out at trade time. All it does is create angst and frustration amongst everyone in the process.

Can you possibly imagine at how p!ssed Hill's Mrs is right now at Freo? And if she's feeling that way then Hill will be feeling that way and that does not bode well for a happy player / club relationship. Good luck getting Hill to bust a gut for you Mr Longmuir ...
