Harves was nowhere near our best player in 08 when he retired.
Fisher was dominant and one of the best in the comp. Len dog was at the peak of his powers. Roo and Milne both had big years kicking 60+ goals.

Dal Montagna BJ and Ball were all solid and clearly had overtaken the great man.
Maybe Harves may have just snuck in the top 10 that year.

Amazing how or memories work ( or otherwise ) to suit our own stories.

I would be rapt if Lenny is in our best 12 but if he's our best player we have serious problems.
Given we are discussing whether we will be 2nd last or last - it's fair to say we have serious issues but I understand why people want to think everything is rosy.
Harvs finished top 5 in the B&F in '08, when we finished top 4…
Only mid to finish ahead of him was Lenny…

Next?
So he was the best mid then that year?
So our list this year is in similar shape?
Sweet - Ill start making my bookings for the GF then!

I cant believe i was such a silly worry wart! I am glad you guys have pulled me up by bootstraps and made me see the light and the errors of my negative ways! Thanks chaps. See you in September!

Begs the question if Harves was in our top 5 in 08 why did he retire when we were on the cusp of an (almost) premiership?

I think there were some 'emotional' votes for that B & F count...

Really, who gives a F*** about 08

We haven't won a flag since 1966, so this is our 48th year of rebuilding to win another flag, sadly, we definitely will need a lot more time before we challenge again.

Saints looking like a bottom 4 team in 2024.
