Ahhh - so are you admitting that the umpires are not perfect and on a St Kilda website people should have a right to criticise them?
I would say that the inference that they’re cheating against us every week is what gets grating

I would like to know the record ratio of free kicks / 50m penalties to goals. I'm guessing we may have seen it tonight with Adelaide's goals.

Legitimate criticism is fine.

Repeateded conspiracies about cheating are laughable and deserve to be called out in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Since you seemingly understand all the rules would you please explain the treatment Max King gets from defenders with very little protection from the umpires?

And BTW, if there is a clear free kick in front of goals it should be paid.
If there isn't it shouldn't be paid. The umpires have no business making decisions on what they think happened - only what they see happening.

And FWIW, IMHO, the new interpretation of Holding the Ball is being adjudicated terribly. A complete lack of consistency over a period of weeks.

Yep Tex was robbed, but he milked one straight after.
But seriously you can’t go with swings and roundabouts when it’s 29/19 to the crows.

Maybe the umpires saw vision of the 'joke' free kick' they gave him in the first quarter?

True, but years of it spamming the forum has worn me down.

I suppose that is on me.

Worst-umpired game I’ve seen ... and that is saying something.

Overall his kicking is terrible. It never had depth i.e. he can't kick 50 metres, but it used to accurate on both sides. Dunno what's happened.

His second half was very good at getting behind the pack for the hand pass out.

Gresham's set shot for goal right in front was terrible. It was like he kicked it with the wrong foot.

Well, I don’t think I’ll be watching the replay.
Take the 4 pts and be done with it.
Byrnes won’t play next week and someone needs to Vimeo in for Lonie. He’s gone back to his useless old self. He showed spark last year before his injury but has gone soft again. Too soft and misses too many goals for a guy that small. Gives a lot of fake chases to tackle hoping the guy he’s chasing will kick the ball so he can stop running.
I’m sick of seeing him in the team.

Well a lot to ponder but the main thing is that we got 4pts playing a desperate bogey opponent on a bogey ground under immense pressure to make up for last week

Yes we didn't play well and it was a worry that we couldn't wrest control of the game for long periods in that 2nd half however at least we showed some composure at the end and take our chances when they presented.

Howard, Coffield and Carlisle were huge all night and Steele is a midfield star that said he needs help.

Gresh was busy but his set shot kicking is appalling and he needs to sort it

Inauspicious start for Byrnes but the experience is all that matters at this stage

As mentioned here the umpiring wasn't too flash and some decisions were eye openers both ways however with the count being 29 to 19 were up against it all night

Port on Saturday night - they go in favourites so pressure is back on them - we usually match up against Port ok and we have the added benefit of being through this match preparation already - Motlop & Burton could be outs and we might get Hanners back - Howard is a good match up for Dixon - it will be tough match but I give us sneaky chance though we need to play better than tonight

Thank you St Kilda.

By all accounts, it wasn’t pretty. However, we won, and we broke and killed a bogie. Adelaide on the rocks, we at least got a few good hits in.

It’s gonna be a different scenario next week. Maybe, Hanners can produce a miracle? Maybe, someone like Savage could produce a cameo forward, or some other u likely miracle might transpire.

We are not North Melbourne. Repeat. We are not North Melbourne.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

luv a win...but get the feeling we will be smashed next week.

too many cameo appearances .. if they all put it together we are on the money.

one thing is still missing...aggression.

nice to see a 4 qrt effort.

No words for Hill again. A couple of cheap one, two's & could only just manage 12 disposals.

Can anyone tell me what Lethlean is doing on match day with the headphones on? Bizarre

It seems the coach has come up with a devilish cunning plan (Sorry Baldrick) Who would have thought playing football for all four quarters could produce such a result. It even overcame the yellowish problem we sometimes succumb to. Methinks this plan has merit.
