not after the coach f***ed him over and then publicly humiliated him....SainterK wrote:He didn't want to play for St Kilda, it's just pointless still wondering about it.
agree with you 100%...but you need to pick up your game though...the guys saying sack the board at the start of this thread were being sarcastic ffs...thejiggingsaint wrote:The BIGGEST myth doing the rounds today is that Lyon is the "best coach in the AFL"....NONSENSE!!!! I thought RL did well by the Saints in getting us to the GF in 2009 & 2010 however he was OUTCOACHED! in all those games!
Our best player in the 2009 GF was warming the pine for most of the game! and if the ragpies had kicked straight we would have been GONE by 1/2 time in 2010 in GF1. On the biggest stage the guy was found wanting!
2009, I agree, he was out-coached. Not just by Bomber though, he also out-coached himself (eg, leaving Ball on the pine).thejiggingsaint wrote:The BIGGEST myth doing the rounds today is that Lyon is the "best coach in the AFL"....NONSENSE!!!! If Gardiner hadn't had to leave the ground he would never have put Kosi in the ruck. He was forced to make changes. The 4 goals at half time would have just rolled out to eight by full time. Given the opportunity of an extra week by extraordinary individual performances.SydneySainter wrote:2009, I agree, he was out-coached. 2010, he wasn't out-coached in GF1. If anything, he out-coached Malthouse (eg, Ray to Swan, Jones to Pendlebury, Kosi in the ruck, Gilbert up forward), it's just that the team weren't good enough to seal the deal.
GF2, Lyon was out-coached because Malthouse predicted he'd repeat at least some of his moves from GF1. However, the Pies were just TOO good and no coaching brilliance won that game.
