Re: Fixture 2019
if that's our double ups then we shouldn't have complaints - much better than past seasons. mind you the crows will be a top 8 team but at least we get them over here and don't meet port a second time at ao.DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Thu 01 Nov 2018 12:49pm Seems about right. these are who we play twice
Melbourne 5th
Adelaide 12th
Fremantle 14th
Gold Coast 17th
Carlton 18th
Only play one top 8 team twice and the bottom 2 teams twice. What more do you want
i'm more interested in six day breaks, time of games, and how many we play out of melbourne. probably double the likes of richmond and collingwood. or have the afl gone easier on us given china and townsville?

So we have the easiest draw and Collingwood the hardest? I can’t wait to see how Curly tries to spin this into one of his absurd conspiracies

Re: Fixture 2019
Our style of game stinks so bad the AFL didn’t give us a single Friday night.
2 games against GC and Carlton, a home game against Brisbane and Freo, and away games at our home stadium. There are plenty of opportunities there if we are good enough to take them.

To be fair it seems to be exclusively based on last year's ladder position, rather than breaks / travel but yeah it looks good for us on first glance

Only 4 night games!
We have been well and truly shunted/shafted off to the wastelands!

I don’t like to be too pessimistic and force myself to look at the positives of the draw. BUT have a look at the first 9 games. How many of these will they win? My pessimistic side says at the most two games which means 7 losses. Wouldn’t do much good for the morale of the player, let alone the membership drive!
Gosh, I hope I’m wrong.

Not sure why punters expected anything else enrico…..When you lose frequently and don't draw a crowd and have no real bargaining strength at the table.....you lose and they drop kick you into oblivion until you prove you are a reliable winner and regularly competitive.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Thu 01 Nov 2018 5:20pm Only 4 night games!

Re: Fixture 2019
desert saint, you have absolutely nailed it. We have been shafted for 18 years, so that the AFL can manipulate its attendances, by handing certain clubs everything on a platter. Make no mistake, we have been royally screwed, as have the Dogs and the Roos. How do you grow you supporter base if you are continually shunted to the back of the queue? The AFL crows loudly about the draft system and how it keep the playing field level, while at the same time doing massive favours for Hawthorn, Essendon, and Collingwood every year at the expense of clubs like ours. It's a rigged system that mirrors the direction our society has been heading for decades. All the money and privilege goes to the top.

That draw is absolutely terrible to supporters.
It is seven shades of s***.

Re: Fixture 2019
I'm counting 8-12 wins next season going by the FIXture (and some luck).
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

It looks a bit easier in the backend of the year. Richo might be nervous about rounds 2-9.Jacks Back wrote: ↑Thu 01 Nov 2018 10:00pm I'm counting 8-12 wins next season going by the FIXture (and some luck).

Re: Fixture 2019
I remember in 2009 after finishing top four we had one game at the G in the final round. Then we had a “home “ final against Collingwood.sunsaint wrote:when you are on the bottom of the ladder they all look hardGSG wrote: ↑Thu 01 Nov 2018 5:26pm

Re: Fixture 2019
Reality is Adelaide likely improver if they avoid pre season camp and Freo have improved with Hogan, Lobb,
Draw wasn't the reason we sucked last year and probably wont be the reason in 2019 . of teams we play twice i see us going 5-5.
7 wins at best my tip

Re: Fixture 2019
Well, I went safe with 8-12 wins (perhaps too optimistic). Overall, I've erred on positive and a big range. Still came through with an ok guess based on the fixture.... How did everyone else go?
