Your tone has changed from last season, where you were happy to defend his squibbing of contests and tackling...

Re: Brad Hill
What he brings is a negative example for younger team-mates.
That if you're a triple premiership player on big coin you can pick and chose when you go and you won't get dropped!

Re: Brad Hill
So the assumption is players are robots not complex humans influenced by the environment? Try kicking a sherrin under pressure, on the run, and hit a target, moving or otherwise from 40 metres - should be an Olympic sport. Give the guy a break for heavens sake. He tries. We can argue other things, but he is putting in. If we wanted a tackling master we should have recruited a Storm front or second rower. Brad will blossom as we improve and as guys return from injury and form loss. Remember that sublime goal on the run against GWS - that was class.

I don't think there is any reasonable person that would disagree, however there are other things he isn't bringing that an AusKick kid can bring and that is what is reflecting badly on him more intensely because of his proven standard.

Carrying a lower leg injury and getting injections is the mail.

Re: Brad Hill
I know all teams do it but if your injured & you need a jab to get you through the game & it's supposed to help & it hasn't I don't see the point have a week or 2 to off & see if it gets better if not have few more off. My point is if the injury is preventing from playing to your full potential even with a jab why risk a bloke on 900K to further injury.

It’s effecting his kicking but not his running.

Re: Brad Hill
Did they not learn from Weller.
Was it 2 yrs ago that he had an ankle in a moon boot, about April or so, missed 2 games, then was never the same afterwards?
2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Re: Brad Hill
I’ve been one of his harshest critics but I commend the lad. He was under the spotlight and he delivered. His run, his decision making and his overall disposal efficiency today would have been in the elite category. His effort and his work rate was also off the charts.whiskers3614 wrote: ↑Sat 10 Apr 2021 7:05pmThe goal he gave up
As far as that goal where he gave up..yes, he made an error..but if you watch the replay, there were a couple of Saints players around him that were flat footed and provided zero support. Coffield was the closest. Coffield was poor again today. He spectates way too often.
Coffield expects others to do the heavy lifting and the defending, while he gets the cheap handball receives. He chooses when to contest in the air at times.
I saw Coff in the huddle at 3 quarter time and his eyes looked really black. I’m wondering whether he’s on pain killers and it’s clouding his judgement and he’s lost a bit of urgency...or perhaps he’s taken to all night video games (a la Billy Longer) and that is impacting his preparation. I hope it’s not the latter
