Apologies Teflon. Are the boys back training? Are we distracting from another tit for tat off season footy thread?

Are you serious?
Of course, it is part of the banter, isn't it?

I lack the sense to know whether the friendly chat here is just banter between good friends or some serious spleen-splitting, ventilator-ranting, bone-moving, axe-grinding, devil-wishing, dogs-breakfast regurgitation.

Asperger's?

Pardon me.

Oh..and there are those 'gate-keeper' types, who "maintain standards", right? (And I don't mean the moderators! (respect for them)..I mean..you know, those ones)

Well Hazelwood has some similarities in build to Fritsch of Melbourne but coming from NSW would not have a clue. Scotty on the other hand is strong bullocky type, wiley and could play both ends. I'd recruit Scott of the two.

Which two St Kilda players best encapsulate these two?

Scott Boland looks like Matty Parker to be honest, physically I thought he WAS Matt Parker sans tatts.

Josh Hazelwood looks like Dougal Howard.

But when it comes to performance?

Hazelwood is a bit like Seb Ross, a touch of Dal thrown in..

Boland? To be honest, hardly seen him bowl, but ..

Clearly hit the ground basically at the same time as fingers IMHFO.

Or as Scull said" there was enough grass under the ball to feed a growing cow."

Was out.

Third umpire stuff not good for the game over all. Unnecessary bumff.

Kerry is a comedian. And good. But not an ump. For over a 100 years that was out. On field umps call.

Absolutely out!

Fingers under the ball - jammed into the ground.

Commentators were weak as piss not being stronger on that f*** up

And Taufel just supports the umpires - grow a pair and give your opinion

Bill and Tony used to get off the fence and call a spade a apade

The fact that Khawaja was out of the test side whilst they tried a number of openers was ridiculous

He was obviously a class above shield cricket and clearly a test batter.

They tried
Burns Avg 36
Bancroft Avg 26
Harris Avg 25
Finch Avg 27
Renshaw Avg 33
Pucovski Avg 36 (inj)

Khawaja Avg 47

Go figure?!

I tend to agree B.M. but in fairness, he's come back a better, much more rounded Test batsman.

Of that list I felt for Renshaw who was discarded too quickly when you consider the replacements, in my opinion.

Obviously I feel for young Wil but he cannot risk further damage to his brain.

Will P (hopefully) and Renshaw will/should be our opening pair in a couple of years.

End of day 2 and Australia are still in their first innings.

This is the danger I raised earlier about batting first vs a poor team.

Also compounded by the weaker bowling attack that has been picked.

I tend to agree, we picked a side to not lose rather than a side to win, regardless of the toss. Teflon may have got this (series / summer) right. Quite boring & the pitch as well as our batting have doubled down on that.

Ok, let's make it interesting.

The SaintsationSummerCricketScore Forcaster Champion of 2022/23 is?

3 point
- You predict the match result win, lose draw

1 point
-You predict Australia's total first innings score within 50 runs

2 points
-within 30 runs

3 points
-Within 10

Same for setth Efrica

Winner is respected as reasonable and fair at estimating results, and when footy season kicks, is granted the respect commensurate with such praise.

Oh what a feeling! Toyopet!

Sydney wouldn't want to say anything about Melbourne's weather ever again!

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Cricket's an odd game.

Aussies should declare and force SA to bat immediately, but perhaps they'll will let individual honours come first, and let Kwaj get his 200?

Meanwhile, Pakistan and NZ play out an incredible draw..Pakistan 15 runs away from victory with one wicket in hand and you'd never guess....bad light!

“The SCG is a spinning wicket!”

So far this Test…

Pace bowlers have taken 8 wickets for 311 runs

Spinners have taken 2 wickets for 307 runs

The old-heads strike again!

The Aussies aren’t even bowling Agar, who they had to get in the team!

Now Australia will have to take 14 wickets bowling all day tomorrow after bowling for 2/3 of today… with only 2 pace bowlers! The Goat is going to have to have a blinder it looks like.

Genius.

Morris should have definitely played

Carey at 6
Agar at 7

Safe selections instead will bite them
