The AFL outs lists him out with a knee, is that not true tone?
Would've played if the team needed him. Roos knee is more injured than Toms.
You mean if he was GOOD enough or if if Richo rated him. I think he should have played because he's better than Delaney. You need a big guy to stand in the hole at CHB and block the space.
I must say that Lee must be totally pissed off with Richardson because he's played well in the 2nds and can't get a crack at it. Thanks Tony for blurting that out. Not too subtle.
If they don't want to play him with Demps, Fish and Goddard all out then it doesn't bode well at all. Delaney can take Hawkins but I think we still need a big backmen for structure. Look at what happened with we went into WC with Demps and Roberton as our key backs. Richo just obviously doesn't rate Lee at all. I think he was worth a trial at least

I don't want to put words into Tony's mouth but I think he meant that Lee could have played if it was important for structure but with Reiwoldt back in that released Gilbert from midfield to a tall Back role.

Agree with Bluthy.
Went to Perth severely undersized
Coaches threw the players under the bus " we were happy with the backline we selected, but the team didn't follow instructions"

Gilbo gave Kennedy 4 goals in 10 minutes.
So what do they do? Put 194cm Gilbo onto 206cm Zac Smith.
94 kgs Skinny Sam vs 106 kg Zac.

Danny Frawley, the specialist defensive coach, needs to go away for a year or two.

Lee is a defender. Gilbo is a liability.

Cats have 6 guys over 190 cm.
We go in with very small backline, hoping that Gilbo can play tall as well.
Learnt nothing from Perth, hey.
Throw players under the bus again tonight, blame them for stupid selection decisions.

Lee, Pierce should be in. This is ridiculous selection.
It's like Aussie cricket team, keep picking Shane Watson cos he's a nice guy to have around.

If Gilbo's on-field coaching is so important, make him a runner then!

Neither Gilbert or Roberton should ever be considerd or used as key defenders, neither have strength to match the big formards and are like skittles. Tony74 says Tom Lee is fit to play but not picked which is another disgraceful selection error IMO. Both Gilbert and Roberton will get monstered tonight....

Why would they list him as out with a knee instead of omitted?

It's not like they would be looking to protect the reputation of a bloke that didn't get a game for 2 years.

Carlisle's absence, and now Goddard, means our backline is rubbish with two old stagers tasked with taking on forwards like Hawkins, Kennedy, Tippett, Franklin, etc.
Robbo and Gilbo are forced into roles that neither is built for, nor have any talent to carry out.
Coaches think some magical system and strategy can overcome the issues.
See how quick they threw the players under the bus after Perth?
"Happy with selected team, not happy with the effort and not following instructions". WHAM
Hey, it's like a bottom-rated Formula One team manager bagging the driver and pit crew for not challenging Hamilton or Rosberg for podium.
"Ah, the pit stops were not up to par, and our driver wasn't aggressive enough in the corners..."
Forget about the engine being 200 hp less than the Mercs or the Renaults.
Rubbish rubbish rubbish

You want players to compete with 198 cm forwards? Then PICK LIKE FOR LIKE

Lee Roberton & Gilbert are all the same size... But yes Lee is stronger in the air

But Lee is not a power defender either
