Glass half empty to those pessimists. It's a great result, he has a long way to go. Awesome platform going forward for a guy who hasn't had much to smile about for a long time. Certainly made me smile when I read results.

Well said. Great comment.

I'd be more impressed if he was winning sprints.
You have absolutely no idea about running 3k flat chat.
I'm no expert, so I'll just leave it to you to explain in depth.
Yep that's right. Save the stupid comments to yourself

Hamstring strain is all.about stride length and the swing phase speed in the stride.

Even a 3km run at a good clip does not bring you into the range of stride length for hammy injury most of the time.

So while I'm stoked for his fitness and very positive signs...we can't take it as a real test for his chronic issue.

Just being realistic.

I would imagine that Freeman did not just drive to the venue, get out of his car and go for a 3km run in heat and wind conditions.

A 3km run would only be a component of the training regime of these players - and a public part given the media release which gives publicity to the Club.

You've got to be going at a really decent clip for the entire run of 3km to finish 2nd at an AFL level time trial. It's a pretty good sign. Let's hope he doesn't miss a beat all pre-season and gets to play in the NAB challenge as well. I'll have a smile from ear to ear.

Let's not forget he won the 2km time trial upon his return to his second preseason at the filth in 2015. The rest of the year was a write-off. The boy is a fantastic athlete. That's why we've taken the risk. I have to admit, I'm excited as this is a massive step in the right direction. I'm cautiously optimistic. One step at a time, pun intended. As Nick Maxwell said. If he gets himself he'll be Dangerfield-like.

That should've been if he get himself right! If he gets himself, he'll also have greater self awareness. :)

Great minds WW; was thinking the same.

Sounds like he is killing at training which is obviously better than him not.

Wonder how he has pulled up?

Would rather see him play 6-8 consecutive senior games without any issues whatsoever but wouldn't we all!
